CF: Edison how are you doing?
EM: Thank God everything is fine.
CF: Edison, what happened in your fight against Arthur Abraham?
EM: Well first of all, in life you win some and you loose some. Champions like Ali, Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns and Duran all great champions in the history of this sport have fallen but the most important thing is not falling but it’s getting back up. In life men always fall but it’s the brave ones who get back up….Sometimes things happen, you know the past is the past but sometimes you have to mention it, for this fight I had a nutritionist but he wasn’t adequate. The nutritionist that was working with me is used to working with body builders and the diet he had me on was restricting me of all sugars, salts, fats, potassium and sodium. At one point I told him I felt weak, I look strong but I felt weak inside and I wasn’t ready for a fight. His answer to that was, “well that’s the work that needs to be done, it’s normal to feel that way”. We all saw what happened in the fight.
CF: So you think that weight was the primary reason you lost?
EM: (cutting in) That’s no excuse, all fighters have to work hard to make weight but what’s important here is that I am a warrior of life and I will continue to move forward, everything is going to be alright and there is going to be more Edison Miranda and more Pantera Miranda for a long time.
CF: Anything you’d like to say to your fans?
EM: I really wanted to win this fight for them. Sometimes your mind wants to do something but your body doesn’t let it. I looked really strong on the outside but inside I was weak. Abraham hit me with little shots and I’ll fell down, I was weak. I’m a fighter that can take way bigger shots than the ones I got hit with that night, I was weak.
CF: What is the weight class you think you are going to feel most comfortable fighting at?
EM: …I think 168, 175 are the weights I should be fighting in but I have to stay away from diets that restrict me of all the nutrients.
CF: When do you want to return to the ring, has there been any discussion with your handlers?
EM: Yes there have been discussions and it looks like it will be in four months. I know my fans are disappointed, in life you have to go through the disappointing times in order to enjoy the happy ones. Your not the best at the first things you do in life, you’re the best at the last things you do in life and I believe the last fights of my career will be the most interesting and important ones.
CF: Thanks for your time Edison?
EM: Thank You.
:lol1::lol1:
So basically when Miranda says how good he feels at the weight and how strong he is, what he really means is that he's totally weight drained and will definitely get KTFO.
I'm a Miranda fan but while he says he's not using it as an excuse he puts it out there to let people know and implies it affected the outcome of the fight. Abraham flat out KTFO of you.
He said he felt so good at SMW that after he kod AA he was going to jump in the stands and Ko Pavlik. Pavlik was supposed to attend, but ended up missing the fight. LOL. I am still looking forward to his return the ring, I think every time he loses he will move up a division and claim that he was weight drained in the one before.
Abraham was toying with miranda, you could tell when his trainer was yelling at him and abraham smirking back. I think abraham had him figured out and honestly could have taken him out earlier, just my opinion.
Miranda is pathetic, he's made excuses for all 3 of his losses
yeah really, he's all hushed up in the ring for the post fight interviews .. then months later
he'll bring up having to cut 46 pounds to make 160 for the Pavlik fight.
and then this bit about the nutritionalist (which could be true)
Miranda has got more excuse than a crybaby, I dont mind guys talking/mouthing off but when you get beat stop making excuses and take your lost like a man.
I know seriously, trash talking is something I've come to accept in boxing, but can Miranda can it for a while? he's gotta shut up for a lil.
**when will Miranda cut the crap and just fight at Cruiserweight .. that way all this "nutrition" and "weight cutting" can't be used as excuses
** I swear like 5-6 months back I could picture Miranda vs Darnell Wilson fighting on Friday Night Fights at 200 even.
I said before that fight that he was drained. Everyone kept saying how ripped he looked. Well look at those photo's again. His body was sucked dry. As soon as I saw those photo's, I knew he was in trouble. He looked like Abraham at the Marquez weight in.
Here is Miranda pre fight to Abraham:

And here is a normal Miranda.

Miranda's pitiful excuses are typical for his character.
When miranda was throwing his elephant punches at Arthur Abraham, he didn't look very weak as he reasoned after he lost the fight to AA. how come all of a sudden he became malnutrition right after the fight? this is why Miranda's character corresponds his wretched background. in every fight he displays at least one malicious act. AA is a clean fighter and he observes boxing rules, while miranda deliberately throws low blows and head butts. i am glad AA shut his filthy mouth one last time with an end. Miranda will not rise again. :smashfrea
Miranda was KO'd quite easily, in fact the first meaningful punch thrown by AA floored him. He should keep quiet about the nutritionist (excuses) and do his talking in the ring. I like him as an entertaining, all-guns-blazing fighter, but lose a little respect when he starts making excuses like this.
You lost to the better man. Don't blame anyone else for that. There is no shame to losing to AA. There is perhaps only one other person in the world who can beat AA and we will find out next year.
ok i realise what i said wrong,
i apologise for my stupidity,
nutritionists have a place in boxing, of course they do,
he may have been on the wrong sort of diet,
just to add on to this,
he says
"The nutritionist that was working with me is used to working with body builders and the diet he had me on was restricting me of all sugars, salts, fats, potassium and sodium. At one point I told him I felt weak, I look strong but I felt weak inside and I wasn’t ready for a fight. His answer to that was, “well that’s the work that needs to be done, it’s normal to feel that way”. We all saw what happened in the fight."
this nutritionist doesnt seem to have experience with boxers and was used to working with body builders so this nutritionist may not have been right for a boxer.
sorry for my mistake on the very first post,
this is really what i should have said,
Miranda has got more excuse than a crybaby, I dont mind guys talking/mouthing off but when you get beat stop making excuses and take your lost like a man.
You acknowledge that there is such a thing as a boxer on a bad diet, but also say that nutritionists have no place in boxing?:dunno:
Nutrition is incredibly important, and the right advice often improves your chances of success.
Anyway, I hope Miranda is back KOing people before too long, he's good to watch, win or lose.
