Pavlik would need to carry his bat in my sig if he wants to take Bernard out. Nobody stops Bernard with their hands.
Bernard is too crafty and has seen it all. I predict a dirty fight and the only reason I can see Pavlik pulling it out, is for the same reason Joe did. Bernard cannot fight 3 mins a round anymore.
Hopkins was in trouble! That's why he pretended to be so hurt by a grazing low blow, just to by time because he was having problems with the pressure and rhythm Joe was getting in.
Just wanted to join the masses in saying that this is a ridiculous post. Also you, sir, are a complete moron.

you can't be serious are you? seriously? joe wasn't even hitting him how is that in trouble. i guess that's how you score rounds. only way calzaghe can possibly win with your scoring system. hmmm hopkins is a complainy pants thats a 10-8 round for calzaghe. hopkins is spoiling calzaghe and making him look bad while landing all the good punches 10-7 round calzaghe. calzaghe is coming forward and missing but hes missing a lot! 20-8 round!
I really DON"T KNOW on this one. Logic says Pavlik by murder, but then again.......Hopkins is VERY GOOD at taking apart BASIC boxers like Pavlik.
Look at Hopkins losses: Mitchell (doesn't count), Jones, and ESPECIALLY Taylor and Calzaghe.
Notable Hopkins victories: Trinidad (very basic, one dimensional), De La Hoya, Winky Wright, many others

How was he in trouble when he didn't take a single punch in the round? Yes, he may have been tired but come on, he wasn't being stopped. He made it through rounds 11-12 without any problem.
I think pavlik can win this fight. Hopkins has never been a guy who likes to fight 3 minutes of every round, now that he is older the problem has gotten even worse.
But if hopkins can land some sharp sneaky right hands he could cause pavlik some problems.
I'm a huge B-hop fan, but he was looking pretty worn out at the end of the Calz fight. I think Pavlik can and will be able to inflict much more damage than Calz. I wouldn't be surprised to see the old man quit, TKO'd, or even KO'd in the late rounds.
...I thought he was ready to go in the Cal fight and he was close to quitting IMO. A Pavlik matchup will be much worse.
it all depends on what Hopkins has left in him
if he fights as well as he did against Joe or better, then he should take this with a UD, but if his stamina and offense has decreased yet more since the Calzaghe fight he'll lose, maybe even be KO'd for the first time
i picked Hopkins, just cos i like him much more... but this is a 50-50 fight in my mind
The most even bet would be if Pavlik wins by KO or not. At this point in his career Hopkins just tries to make his opponents look bad, usually with success.
Hopkins got tired keeping up with Joe. And Joe wasn't even tagging him at all. It was just trying to keep up that got him tired. Kelly is nowhere near as fast as Joe. However, he still has a high workrate and works of off the jab. Hopkins best chance is to fight his normal inside fight with Pavlik by getting rough and clinching on the inside. But that may be dangerous as well. Because Pavlik is good on the inside with uppercuts. He literally put Miranda and Jermaine to bed with uppercuts on the inside.
Dangerous fight for B-Hop. I know it's very hard for people to say B-Hop gets stopped. But he's very old. I always wondered why he threw so little as he got older. And it's because he can't simply be that active or he'lk tire out. Being selective is what lost him his two fights to Jermaine and against Calzaghe.
joe calzaghe quote "if i had been at my best i would have stopped hopkins."
yeah you almost had him there joe..............

October 18th= Execution time. Nard doesn't take a fight unless he is confident. :D

Yeah That's right! and plus he'll never lost to a white American boy....
Kelly by KO!
Hopkins will use his usual headbutts, holding while hitting, and sleeper holds around Pavlik's neck.
But it's not going to work.
The fight will end with Hopkins on the canvas, being counted out.
Hi Tunney
Hmmmmmmmmm... what weight is this at? Bearing in mind that Hop has a lot more muscle mass than he used to have.
I can see Hop winning this... Pavlik is good, but he's on a single straight line.
Of course, if Moby DID win, and impressively, then it would be a great promo for him vs Joe Blow.
It's at 170 pounds.
Hop by decision :boxing:
Execution time.
I think that people are really underestimating Hopkins. Not that Bernard will win the fight, but stop him? Hes simply too smart and is willing to do anything to not be seriously hurt. Pavlik has a style that is not hard to figure out(similar to Trinidad) and Hopkins does not take a fight unless he has been studying his opponents for a long time, just the way he did with De La Hoya, Trinidad and Calzaghe. Calzaghe has a high workrate, is faster than Pavlik and also throws more punches, and i didn't see him land aything big on Hopkins for the entire fight. I like Pavlik by close decision but it will be his toughest test against one of the greatest middleweights of all time, and hes fighting at a weight that he has never fought at before. Pavlik would need more than a left jab and straight right hand to get to Hopkins but as Thunder Lips as stated, his workrate alone should be enough for him.
Pavlik doesn't need to take this fight. Its a lose lose situation for him. If he wins another close decision, then the critics will just say join the club with Taylor and Calzaghe. He will only get lots of credit if he blows Hopkins out ot even stop him, and thats somthing that no one is expecting.
