The apparent upcoming fight between Hopkins and Pavlik is proberbly going to be boring, but who do you thing will win?
Personally I think it'll be a Pavlik SD/UD over Hopkins with Pavlik looking rubbish in the process.
Hopkins by decision, but one that could easily turn into a stoppage if he figures Kelly out quick enough to break him down.
I hope this fight happens, because when Kelly looks worse than Joe did against Hops, the haters will more than likely cry.
Yeah but he wasn't in shape at the time
he is muscle but even so i think i remember a bit where a reporter asked him how making weight was goung and he said something like:
"It's a struggle. I'm eating all the time"
I think.
+ he fought Winky at 170, 2 pounds more for a gym rat like Hopkins wouldn't be hard imo
True but remember when he stepped up to fight Tarver, and HBO commented on how large his biceps looked compared to when he was at 160. I still think even if it has a tiny effect on his stamina he can't afford to lose anymore of his workrate.
He might have but he fitted into 175 nicely and hes' all muscle which means he's going to have to lose muscle to get to 175. He also started his career there.

Yeah he made it close as hell though. I had it 114-113 Calzaghe. If Hopkins had a round or 2 more stamina....he probably would have won! imo
True but I just think Hopkins is a bad stylistic match up for anyone he can make any fight close.
I thought Calzaghe beat him by 3 rounds but it was close, Hopkins stamina let him down but he's 43. He didn't do anything past round 3.

He actually stuggled to get up to 175 i think. If i remember correctly from the countdown

yeah there's no reason 2 move down in weight, if this fight goes thru. & Hopkins wins he should retire right away, he has nothin 2 prove...personally i only seen him lose 2 Roy Jones 7-5 rounds. i have yet 2 see his debut fight witch he lost in a 4 round descision...i have 2 see it for my self 2 come 2 my own conclusion.

That's what i'm saying having to shed the extra weight may decrease his workrate even more.

Hopkins can win this fight, he has to keep distance and jump in with his right hand then hold, on something kelly will have to get used to in a BHop fight. I would really like to see this one happen.
Pavlik is a very good fighter, but you could make a case for Hopkins being a bit too smart and would figure him out. Pavlik has a style that technical boxers like Hopkins could figure out because he is only one way and is not multi dimensional. The question is could Hopkins exploit that at 43?. I'm not sure about this one yet. I'll have to think about it.
lol...Hopkins only problem iz his workrate but @ 43 can u blame him...

If it's at 175 i'd pick Hopkins but at 168 Hopkins will have to move down lower than he's been in a long time. That may effect his stamina and put too much strain on his old body. (i'm not white)

the white boyz r lookin 4 the next white-hope...brits. especially! so technically Hopkins but the white or payed judges aint goin 4 it...
