DLH fights werent as 1-sided, but DLH lost all his big fights.
RJJ beat trinidad, DLH lost to Trinidad
RJJ beat Hop, DLH lost to Hop
But id say DLH.
but what point does that make?
RJJ was the better fighter by a mile
what he said there makes sense.
he said oscar FOUGHT better fighters.
he also said that, his losses are not included on his resume, so his resume ISNT as good.
if i send in a resume for a job application, im not going to include all the things im NOT good at.
Quiet Reed. We're not supposed to extend the conversation besides just answering yes or no, don't you get it?
The Thread starter made it clear that the question was who fought the better opposition. Oscar by a mile.
Their she is I knew it was only a matter of time before the RJJ cockroach came out in you. You go from :
To this. Still all along talking about the same thing.

Yeah, but the topic is who fought the better fighters. I agree that it is not necessarily a good measurement for who was better but there is no doubt that Oscar fought more top elite guys.
To this. Still all along talking about the same thing.
Secondly, go learn what a fuckn resume is. You actually have to beat the fighters to have them on your resume. That means Floyd, Mosley, Hopkins, Tito are not on Oscar's resume. I am a big Oscar fan but if you think he has one of the best resumes ever then you know even less about boxing than you have conveyed in this thread.
Hahaha, I am loving watching Reedick and IMDAZED piss all over everyone else in this thread.
Something i have been noticing around here of late...people who try to attack Roy's career in debates get their ass handed to them.
I wonder why the fuck that would be now?
The thing that annoys me is that everyone who says that B-Hop was too green for Roy to be given credit for that fight are just fucking parroting off other people. If you go and watch the fight you can appreciate that was a top class victory for Roy against a very good Hopkins. The same goes for the Toney fight. Sure, James may have been a little weight affected but he was for every fight. If anybody can sit through that fight and tell me that Roy does not whoop any version of Toney then they are just a biased Roy hater.
Stop making sense!
It's all good, man. The more we can debate, the more those who read the threads can judge facts and truths for themselves and the more these clowns look like...well, clowns.
I already said he did but it pains you that RJJ is the better fighter. So much so, that you don't realize I said Oscar fought better opposition on FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS.
Translation: I have to resort to this because I've been fukked over in this thread. Roy Jones took a title from Bryant Brannon. LMAO!
Never backtracked. But anyone who reads this thread can see that. No need to defend myself.
Yeah, he fought a few greats. Lost for the most part too.
Good day.
Exactly the point of the thread. You say he fought the much better fighters then you add BUT. Then try to discredit De La Hoya anyway you can.
Yes you did back track your self in this thread. Its okay tho, I know your going hard. On two different situations.
Your right RJJ didnt win a title from Bryant Brannon, he defended it. LOL
Off the top of my head I got that wrong. Who would have done that, with all the superstars he was fighting back then.
It pains you to say but you even admited De La Hoya has fought the much better fighters. Yes or No?

Its obvious you love deeply RJJ and nothing will change your mind. De La Hoya has one of the best resumes ever and your going on about things that RJJ is much more guilty of.

You keep talking about these other divisions, well you started on 130. Everything I have said was "proven false" but now you agree on 130. Also before "De La Hoya was SLAMMED for his competiton before the Ike Quartey". Then you also back tracked on that.

As far as the other divisons go, im not going to list all the great fighters he fought. "Because you already know" Yet cant seem to grasp the idea

Firstly, IMDAZED stated from the start Oscar has fought the better fighters.

Actually, he was already too big for the division. The plan WAS for him to fight the REAL champs at the division but he was dropped twice by no-hopers and from then on he was moved a little more gingerly.
But keep harping on that. Hey, I would too if I had nothing else to say, and my facts were proven false and I can't debate the other divisions.

Of course he could. There is no way that Roy was on the same level as B-Hop then, Hopkins hadn't had the time to learn his trade. Also, five fights is quite a lot really. The difference between a fighter that's 15-0 and 20-0 can be quite considerable, in British terms it could be the difference between being British champion and European or even world (although over here it's normally the WBZ version lol) champion. It was also 2 years later. Not only that but B-Hop didn't fight top tier fighters until years later. The thing is, we're not saying that Roy didn't have skills because B-Hop was green when he fought him, we're just saying that if that's your best win it's really not as good as it looks on paper. Surely you can't disagree with that?
i surely understand where your coming from.... but roy wasnt at his best either.... thats my point...
NO. Because 5 fights later he was the MW champion for the next 10 years.
couldnt of been TOO green

Your pissing off facts. De La Hoya fought all of 7 or 8 fights at super featherweight. Of course he didnt fight the best, all of these fights coming in his first 15 or so fights. Who would have?

Sounds great. Difference being Bernard was coming out of prison, Roy was an olympian with an extensive amateur background. See the difference?
Actually Bernard had nearly 100 amateur fights BEFORE going to prison (or possibly after?) and was also the IBF #1 ranked contender. With good reason as he won the belt a year later.

hahahaha... i like how people say green... they just throw it out there like its nothing..
roy and bernard both had about 22 pro fights when they fought... roy beat him SOUNDLY.... 5 fights later, bernard became the IBF MW champion, and it stayed like that for 10 years....
sure.... he was too GREEN!

I know right? He was so green, he was the #1 contender and Roy was #2. He was so green, he didn't lose again for 12 years!
He did get slammed, when did I deny what I said?
Of course, you don't know that because you see a bunch of decent names on boxrec and go, "Oh sh*t! He fought everyone!" Which is partly true.
However, he picked up the WBO title at 130 (one of his many "world titles") so if he could do that, I'm sure he coulda fought...umm...the better fighters in the division?
He didn't fight the best at 135 either, like it or not.
And not at 140 either.
And not at 154 either.
He lost to the best at 160.
At 147, he arguably lost to every top fighter he fought. Of course, you could say he won a couple too.
We're done here. Unless you have a bunch more lies you wanna pass off as facts. Bryant Brannon. Man, shut up.
Your pissing off facts. De La Hoya fought all of 7 or 8 fights at super featherweight. Of course he didnt fight the best, all of these fights coming in his first 15 or so fights. Who would have?
A very green Hopkins in Bernard's first title fight? You sure you want to go there? And I was more touting 6 different weight classes, something that has never been done before or since.
