What do ya think about David Haye at HW?
Ive just watched some of his fights on YOUTUBE, he doesnt look anything special. But, like i said i was it on youtube. Also i dont see him beating Samuel Peter let alone Wlad.
Just wanted your opinion
i love your loyalty to so-so fighters. The only one of those he loses badly to is Wlad, i think he could beat Peter, i hope that fights come's off for the WBC title later next year.
It'd also be fun watching valuev trying to land shit on haye. he'll be hitting fresh air all night.
You think he could beat Tony Thompson?
Good cruiserweight but he'll never be among the top ten HWs.
He would lose badly to Wlad, Chagaev, Peter, Thompson, Valuev, Povetkin, Virchis, Dimitranko, etc.

Haye will be slower on his feet as he will have to move extra weight across the ring. Plus he will get tired faster probably carrying extra baggage which doesnt bode well for his suspect stamina.
I dont want to be pessimistic for Haye, but shouldnt think just because he dont have to struggle to make weight anymore, it will be any easier as a heavyweight. Not to say heavyweight really is the holy grail anymore, with James Toney and Roy Jones showing how it is done if you try to.
Its just most lighter guys dont try and be heavyweight fighters. Joe Calzaghe coiuld try his luck at heavyweight as well, but most people just dont bother.
Yes, he most certainly could try his luck at heavyweight.. but he would get the living shit beat out of him.
Haye has an exciting style but came from the shittiest division in boxing and beat down a bunch of nobodies, all I can say is that atleast he didn't wait till he was 35 to stop with that shit like Calzaghe did, and he is going after the best in the division to his credit.

I think that he would KO Sam Peter, who is much slower and was put down several times by a lesser puncher than Haye a while ago.
Do you think Haye will carry his quickness to the Heavyweight? I doubt! He may be just as slow as Sam by the time he fights as a Heavyweight. How many pounds do you think, will he be bringing up with him, if he fights Sam Peter?

A lot people seem to have missed that Haye is very effective using the upper cut - he has used this in a lot of his fights and it is devastating!! If he can land this in the inside to anyone then its game over!!
He's a good fighter. Could possibly be a top 5 heavy depending how his chin holds up. I don't think he'll beat Wlad, but your only as good as your last fight and his last fight was a devastating KO win in an unification match. That's probably why he gets a bit more hype. If he struggles in his first fight at heavyweight his bandwagon will slow down. Big punchers with vulnerabilities always make for exciting fights/fighters.
Very good, objective post. Take note WLAD OWNS. Let me say this, I will be with Mr Haye all the Waye! :boxing:

He is a pretty good fighter, I've seen pretty much all his fights and I think he's fast, explosive, has a good jab but his best punch is his straight right hand, he also possesses good head movement but it doesn't work all the time and he doesn't keep his left hand up most of the time which leads to him getting knocked down and hurt so he's a pretty good fighter but has flaws which makes him exciting to watch.
Haye doesn look good to me as well. But if he can land on your chin, and you cant land on his, he has a good chance of beating you or any heavyweight.
But he said Wlad hasnt got a defence. I dont really understand this, as Wlad is a bit defensive as a fighter isnt he? Is Haye good defensively then?
But yes we need to see Haye v Wlad. I supect there are quite a few who would beat Haye at heavyweight, but who knows. On any given day Haye might beat those dudes.

Haye is an overhyped loudmouth punk
He needs to prove himself and actually beat someone with a pulse if he wants to be taken seriously.
you love him really. he gets you juices flowing.
Very good fighter, best right hand in the business but the likes of wlad ownes and tunney seriously overrate him. They believe him to be the saviour of the division, silly or what.
I think this, His chin is questionable NOW Whats it gonna be like at heavyweight? its gonna be worse. Wladimir hits hard even as heavyweights are concerned, and yeah i dont think hayes chin could handle that, BUT then again im picking cotto to beat margarito, i sound a bit hypocritical eh? lol
Exciting fighter with great speed and power but a questionable chin. Needs to be fully tested at HW. Noone knows how he will go until he fights some top 10 guys. At the moment I would pick both Wlad and Peter to beat him but we will have to wait and see.
