Chavez lost, he lost. I had it 7-3 6-4 Vanda.
Chavez jr should not be ranked as the 4th best 154 lber by the WBC. What a corrupt organization.
That judge who gave Chavez all ten rds is either Chavez's uncle or is being paid by the WBC.
Disgusting what happened tonight!
I actually agree with rmz. While it was a close fight, I had it closer than rmz did, I still had Chavez Jr winning by a couple of rounds. I think you guys are getting caught up with both Vanda being the underdog and giving him more credit than what he did and the name of Chavez Jr and expecting him to do more.
He didn't look very good and his stamina was absolutely terrible! If he expects to be able to fight professionally he is going to have to get a conditioning coach and work like crazy on his endurance and stamina. He also really needs to think about getting some more head movement. His offense especially his body attack is very good, but he lacks greatly in the defense and is open way too much. A good counter puncher would have a field day with him. Chavez Sr actually had a pretty decent slip/head movement defense.
Anyway, the actual fight was scored horrifically wrong apart from the one guys score. I could see how one judge gave it to Vanda by a point, though I strongly disagree with Vanda winning, and I could also see how one judge gave it to Chavez by four rounds, which again was a bit much I think. The last judge was a typical corrupt, bias moron. If you're going to favour one guy no matter what, why be so absurdly blatant about it? Every round was insane! rmz was right in that Vanda basically lost all the first half by doing nothing and then won the majority of the second half. He still didn't do enough though in the first half to be able to take the fight. He didn't win every round in the second half so there was no way I could give him a draw. Close fight, terrible showing by Chavez, decent showing by Vanda the journeyman but Chavez still won it.
I do think julio jr won but the judges went too far that was a close call for him and i woulnd have been surprised if vanda won, and i would have been really happy if he did event thou i am mexican.
But this fight was in my home city in hermosillo sonora mexico and julio jr, went to my gym to train there while he was here, and most of the time he was just slacking and doing shit, and i know for a good fact that he was having a good time while in the city, that why he deserved to get his ass kicked and the reason he was almost passing out in the last round.
HAHAH if it looks like i have hard feeling against him its because i dont like him at all, and I am a very good friend of a fellow boxer on my gym who is called Michael Miranda and he is the jr.middle mexican champ and he has tried to fight Julio jr. only to be ducked continously.
Ok man, I won't argue with you. I know what I saw, and I saw JCC Jr. easily winning the first five rounds and Vanda winning the majority of the second half of the fight. Boxing is a subjective sport and you may see things different than I do. In my personal opinon, JCC Jr. won the fight.
If I remember correctly, JCC Jr. was primarily attacking the body for the first few rounds, throwing in the occasional headshot. Vanda was doing NOTHING. Honestly, nothing. He flicked the jab a little bit, threw a few punches, but for the most part he looked lost. I honestly want to these this fight again and compare notes, something tells me your opinion will be different.
Edit: Vanda kept moving into the ropes where Chavez Jr. peppered him with shots. I made a note on my card: Vanda needs to stay off the ropes. This was in the first five rounds of the fight. You have a bad short time memory.:sad6:
Julio peppered him with shots but they were just flashy and not effective since Matt kept his guard up the whole fight. Again, Matt landed the cleaner effective shots from round 1-10.
He was snapping Julio's head back from the very beginning of the fight with clean punches. What about Julio jr.? Did he land a meaningful punch by hitting Matt's arms? Hitting your opponent's arms ins't even considered a punch landed.

Here's my card:
Round 1: Chavez
Round 2: Chavez
Round 3: Chavez
Round 4: Chavez
Round 5: Chavez
Round 6: Vanda
Round 7: Even
Round 8: Vanda
Round 9: Chavez
Round 10: Vanda
97-94 Chavez
Some of the rounds were hard to score, both guys were landing combinations inside. In round 9 both guys were rocked and stunned.
Money, I don't think Vanda threw a meaningful punch until round 4. I think some people get too caught up in rooting for the underdog. He was snapping Julio's head back from the very beginning of the fight with clean punches. What about Julio jr.? Edit: Not until round 5. In round 6 Vanda started to turn things around.
Round 4 was a good round for Vanda, he started to use his jab, but he still didn't do enough to win the round.
People forget about the first half of the fight. I remember telling myself when Vanda started picking it up in the sixth that he started too slow and it would be very hard to come back on the cards.
You guys are haters...I am by no means a fan of JCC Jr. but I gave the fight to JCC Jr. 97-94 (one round even). Did you not see that JCC Jr. won the first 5 rounds? Vanda didn't know what to do for the first half of the fight, he barely threw anything. He won most of the second half of the fight, but he started too slow. 97-93 was a perfectly acceptable score. 100-90 was ridiculous, but otherwise i think JCC Jr. won the fight, not his best performance but he won.OF COURSE NOT! Matt landed more and they were clean punches throughout the fight compared to most of Julio's punches that landed on Matt's arms.

Exactly
Dude was a straight up pussy and I Laughed when The Ref Deducted Solis a point for intentional headbutts.
That Ref was Fair and he knew that dude Solis was bitching he owned him with that.
Also the Announcers said something about Meldrick Taylor vs Chavez sr...I think they were saying Solis was like Taylor and Donaire would need a knockout to win.
Basically solis was running.Yup. But the bitching tactic worked for him cause everytime the other guy had the momentum he complains to the ref and then the momentum goes away.
Accidental headbutts. Actually he was the one who intentionally butted the other guy. That solis bitched the entire fucking fight.
the biased announcers were calling Donaire a dirty fighter throughout the fight. They shitted on the ref when he took the pts away from both fighters.
I saw no intentional fouls.
Dude It was a disgrace tonight First you had a Mexican named Tyson who did not fight like Tyson.
Then you had the Runner and grab Solis who kept bitching about headbutts.
Then you had JCC jr get cans and bottles thrown at him while his dad the legendary warrior El gran campeon was at ringside.
Besides JCC jr is just a pretty boy, the real fighter of the sons is the Brother Omar Chavez.Accidental headbutts. Actually he was the one who intentionally butted the other guy. That solis bitched the entire fucking fight.
How bad was it? I didn't get to see the fight. From start to finish Matt was throwing more, landing more with clean effective punches. Most of Julio's body punches landed on Matt's arms. It wasn't even close. Some of the rounds were close but they all should've gone to Matt.
even the biased announcers acknowledged that Vanda had won by 2 pts. They were very biased throughout the telecast. They even said that even though Vanda had won, they were happy chavez got the decision cause it was a great way to promote and further Mexican boxing..........................
Matt goes to my old gym and my bro still goes there, so I saw him training before he left MN to train at altitude, and I promise you that it seemed like he was worried more about being robbed.
Sad.. I was ringside when the other notable MN fighter Bonsante basically whooped him. And now he's beating guys like Chavez Jr.?
Lol, I swear to fucking God that I talked to Matt before this fight, and he said that the only way he'd lose is if they took it away from him. Go fucking figure. I didn't even see the fight. Really bad robbery?

Chavez jr said after the fight, that he would seriously give it much thought if he should continue. If he struggles against Vanda, think of what happens when faced with the elite of the division.
The network , Azteca America said that we as fans will no longer have to pay to see PPv fights. I dont know if they mean ppv's like Hbo or just these sarcasms called Chavez jr ppv,s.
It is a bit hard to imagine that people would continue to part with their hard earned money to watch a Chavez Jr. PPV.....
