Not really rumors but Steve kim posted this on the Maxboxing message board.
- Bob Arum says he think he has a deal with Dan Goossen for a Pavlik-Williams fight on September 27th. I couldn't get confirmation from Goossen since he's in Germany with Tony Thompson. Other sources aren't so sure a deal is done or will get done
The second option for Pavlik is Allan Green moving down to 160
- Manny Pacquiao will fight November 15th at the Planet Hollywood in Vegas
- October 11th on Showtime- the bout between Antonio Tarver and Chad Dawson is a done deal. Also they will do a delay of Vitali Klits-Sam Peter on the same telecast. Not a bad alternative to the Mosley-Mayorga PPV, IMO
- HBO is pushing hard for Jermain Taylor to face Jeff Lacy( should he get past Epi Mendoza in a few weeks) and not Carl Froch for the WBC sp midd belt
I'll have the full details in tomorrow's article

I hope Dawson vs Tarver finally happens, plus that will be a really sick card.
Maybe Im wrong, but I disagree. If Margs started wearing him down I can't see how the bigger, stronger and harder punching Pavlik won't do the same, only earlier. If Williams had that Tommy Hearns type of power I might feel different, but he is not a huge puncher at welter, How is he going to keep the bigger guys off him at middleweight?
Williams cuts a lot of weight to make 147 that along with the work that Margarito was putting could have played a role in why he wore down like that. So with cutting a lot of weight not being a issue you never know how Williams body might react. I still would pick Pavlik to win though.

Williams can't land a decent paying fight this year. A shot at Pavlik would give him his biggest paycheck and his biggest opportunity. He clearly has the frame of a big middleweight, so it's not like he'd be bloated. And the bottom line is that if he loses, he still has a welterweight title to go back to.
Williams has a world title and still nobody wants to fight him. It's a good move for him.

no way is pavlik-williams happening. not anytime soon at least. too much comp at williams to just move up

Steve Kim - I'm hearing that Arum is leaning more and more towards Soto to face Pac
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope the fight against Soto or Valero will not be PPV but knowing Arum it most likely will be
soto deserves it more than edwin.
edwin might be undefeated but humberto has fought better opponents.
i think valero would've been easier for manny than soto.
agree on wishing it wasn't ppv though. that'd be $150 for just manny this year for me.....
Good, it looks like the Tarver-Dawson fight will be a week later. This site has it going down on the 18th of Oct.

He's the asshole who publishes another amateurish website dedicated to promote his various biases and agendas. Leon is the guy who published the results of The Contender weeks ahead of time two years in a row.
I gotcha. ********** is the only place I've seen him before and I usually just breeze thru there.
What happened to a Pavlik vs Abraham matchup?
That may happen early next year, but both of them will have another fight first. Abraham will fight his mandatory Raul Marquez next.
Lol, wow!! What up with Greg Leon, Scott?

You're right, I don't want to hear Green's post fight excuses again. I'd rather see Paul Williams get the chance. Green is now managed by Greg Leon so fuck him anyway.

How is Allan Green moving down when he was complaining of the weight problem fighting at 162 against Miranda? If that really was a hindrance then 160 will be a bad idea.

Would be interesting to see Williams/Pavlik. Should be an exciting fight, both guys are volume punchers I just think Pavlik's power would be the key factor. As for the Showtime card with Dawson/Tarver and the Klitschko/Peter replay that's going to be nice because Im not buying Mosley/Mayorga PPV.
I think Pav is just to big and strong for Williams. Paul was wearing down in the later rounds vs Margarito. I don't think he'll fare very well against a bigger, strong, harder punching version of Margs. He should stay at 147. If he can make the big fights I give him as good a chance as Cotto or Margarito to unify.
