Was Watching Chavez DLH II and was disappointed when Chavez refused to answer the bell. I always thought he was a Mexican warrior. Any of you who reply factually, from either side, is being played. Thank you for posting this clip. I was looking for this for the longest. Chavez quit and he refused to acknowledge that HE was the one who made the decision to QUIT! Chavez was a sore loser, remember when he wanted to sue Richeard Steele for the Randall loss. First off, you sound like you don't know shit about boxing or at least have a personal grudge with Chavez. The man was a shell of his former self when he never came off the stool, you can't hold him acountable for that. He shouldn't even have been in the ring with DLH at that time let alone fight all the way through. I will admit I was disapointed in what happened but Chavez wasn't the same man who had those great battles in his prime. Vargas was the 2nd most exciting boxer in the world behind Tyson when he was coming up. He fought everyone and anyone!! before the age of 25!! oscar never acknowledged winky's or forrest calls for a bout. wonder why. If he wants to fight the best why wont he fight margarito if he wins july 26th? and if you dont think landing 20 something percent of your punches, swinging at air, while your opponent almost lands 50 percent of his punches against you going to school then you must really love oscar. man, i respect and honor Chavez. But, what i cant put up with is the disrespect that Oscar gets for beating Chavez 2x. He was getting a tougher fight and being puffy from Ike quartey, yet he came out in the 12th and went all out. He got caught by the perfect punch, if u go back to the fight, before the the Ko , in between rds , Hopkins' corner told him to go to the body. I understand all that and I agree that it isn't consistent with his previous fights and actions. It just didn't seem like the sort of punch that would stop a guy like Oscar. However, I haven't been hit with a perfect body punch so I guess I don't really know.

Don King threw Chavez in with the most dangerous fighters when he was at the end of his career becuase Chavez was still in a contract with Don King and King wanted to get the most of it. Chavez was old and past his prime weight class, its as simple as that. I personally would never blame a fighter that was his age and had been in as many wars as Chavez has. Julio is known as a legend and for having heart. He will always be remembered as one of the best warriors in boxing history. All action blood and guts fighter that that defined warrior.
