Mayweather going to fight De La Hoya. Except in DLH's tune up (against Mayorga), De La Hoya didn't look like absolute garbage.
Still you have a fucking loaded division in both ways. Except 135 might be even more loaded then 147 was in May 2007 since Cotto didn't have his win against Shane and Williams wasn't on the scene yet.
It seems everyone is ok with Pacquiao moving up to fight Hatton, but is it really? Hatton isn't nearly as accomplished as De La Hoya is and 135 is a way better division.
Pacquiao-Hatton will probably happen in March 2009 or somewhere around there is my guess. In the meantime you have Pacquiao fighting in November. He'll either fight Valero (which would be absoulutely terrible, since Valero hasn't proven shit) or Juan Manuel Marquez/Joel Casamayor.
Assuming he fights Marquez, which would be great, there is also the Campbell-Guzman winner. Guzman keeps getting screwed out of a shot at Pacquiao and if Campbell wins I'm not sure if pacquiao will fight him either (just a hunch).
If they put off Hatton-Pacquiao until like June 2009 so Pacquiao fights Guzman-Campbell winner I'll be ok. Although as of now it's just like Mayweather moving up to fight De La Hoya, except De La Hoya was a lot more worth it and better then Hatton anyway.
In the 2 1/2 years before DLH fought Floyd, he had one fight (1-0), over the same time period, Ricky has fought (assuming they fight by November) 5 fights (3 current world champs, 1 former) and was 4-1. Activity is important, believe it or not.
For someone who takes inactivity off so long, De La Hoya sure looked damn good against Mayorga and didn't seem rusty.
If they fight in November 2008, Activity might be important, but Hatton looked like garbage against Lazcano and got knocked out by Mayweather. De La Hoya might have been better then Hatton, even when past his prime.
Anyway, I think it's pretty much agreed that Pacquiao shouldn't fight Hatton because of how deep 135 is.
Pacquaio-Hatton will never happen. Hatton will have another L come this November, and Ricky will fight low level opposition until he retires, or possibly until he's hyped up again.
Ricky Hatton's only chance in a Pacquaio fight would be to literally pick Manny up and throw him across the ring and hope Pacquaio gets worn down, Ricky will look bad.
But it's good that Ricky will fight a small guy like Pacquaio. Because like I like to say, Manny Pacquiao and Paul Malignaggi won't hurt him too bad just totally embarass him, but if he took a fight with Oscar De La Hoya he'd get destroyed.
i think hatton would beat the shit out pac if pac falls into hatton way of fighting the only way i see pac winning is if he fights a perfect fight cuz i think if he gets caught he's gonna get the fknockout
Agree, also Hatton doesn't do to well against speed fighters, he didn't see one of Floyds shots coming, PacMan too fast
yeah, but pacman also too small. hatton is the stronger guy.
if pacman fights hatton and looses..its okay..that doesnt mean ur exposed..
but seriously hatton likes to come foward on punches and pacman throws way more combo.than floyd...

Also dlh has never gotten KTFO.

135 is a deeper division than 147.

true, but Pacquaio makes Duran-like type legacy/history and Floyd-like money if he can beat Hatton. It's worth a shot and he can always return to 135 if he fails.

it will probably be Valero

Arum said Campbell was on the list of possible opponents for Pacquiao.

Pacquiao vs. guzman/campbell/hatton are all dangerous fights for Pacq and he should take the fight with the most monetary reward.
