Think about it. Who has Mayweather faced with fast hands? Judah? Yeah but Judah doesn't mount any kind of consistant attack. Nothing like Manny last night. He's a 1 punch type of guy. Easily Mayweather is able to see the 1 punch bombs coming and avoid them. Now what about Manny? Nonstop fast hands, consistantly throwing at different angles, awesome footwork in and out. I think he would be bombing Mayweather so much from so many angles, Mayweather wouldn't have time to defend all the shots. Also if he fought Marquez similar, Marquez couldn't counter punch and set the tempo. Too bad he didn't fight like that. I think the weight was what killed his energy at 130lbs. He looks strong and stamina no problems at 135lbs.
There's no way Manny can deal with Floyd. Worst possible matchup for Manny is a slickster like Floyd. Especially when hes got faster speed and reaction than Manny too.
Hahaha, just got back to this thread. Funny how everyone assumed I said Manny would BEAT Floyd. Read thread title. I said he would give Mayweather hell. Doesn't mean he would win. I'm not using Diaz as a comparison to Mayweather, rather using Manny's performance at 135lbs as a measuring stick. He remained active for nearly all 3 minutes of every rd except for the 7th I think it was he took off alittle(still won it). With stamina that allows him to stay active throwing and staying busy, with skill for full 3 minutes, it'll be hard for anyone to handle. His footwork has gotten better and better. His in and outs are hard to time and the way he closes the distance in such a short time I think shocks most of his opponents. I think Mayweather would get a better challenge than lets say the Baldomirs and midget Hattons that he's faced.
the 135-140 lbs version of mayweather destroys pacquiao.
don't get carried away with the victory over diaz. pacquiao eats up face first mexican brawlers but he's never fought slick defensive fighters.
Floyd would counter the shit out of Pacquiao and stop him.
Mayweather would stop him.
Pac arguably lost to Marquez twice, Barrera underestimated him in the first fight and was past his prime when he lost the second fight, past his prime Morales beat him and then was weight-drained and not the same fighter having lost to others including Pac twice after. Diaz was arguably beat by that same Morales and most people were expecting Pac to run through Diaz, he was the underdog even. I like the Pacman but I call it like I see it.
Pac is quite possibly the number 1 fighter p4p but he doesn't match up well with Mayweather who is larger and would pick him apart in the openings that Pac leaves.
140 is still a question mark. At 135, I think it woulda been a great fight that either guy could take, but I'd favor PBF slightly.
Let's not get all delusional.
Mayweather against anybody at 140 or below is a complete mismatch.
Listen, some of you have NO knowledge of the sport..
I think Pacman would be MMays toughest, but MMay would definately beat him..
Did anyone see Diaz last night?
What was he doing?
Answer
-He was standing INFRONT on Pacquiao the WHOLE night..
Theres no way MMay would stay infront of him like that..
Pacman put on one of his best performances last night, but Diaz is a tough mexican who stood right infront of him the whole night..
I dont even like MMay but I know hed win..
It's funny because they will now bring up Marquez to defend Mayweather.
Marquez fights nothing like Mayweather and is actually smarter than Mayweather anyway.
no one is a smarter fighter than floyd,if marquez was so smart he would know that the counter punching style he uses against paquaio doesn't do any thing but make it a close fight and as much as marquez was crying after the fight i'm pretty sure he rather beat paquiao than lose close decisions

I was just thinking this morning that if Pacquiao were to beat Hatton that I'd like to see him fight Floyd at 142 lbs. or so. I really doubt Manny would win or even give Floyd hell, but if there's a non-Cotto fight out there that I would like to see Floyd come back for it's Pacquiao.

I dont think so. I actually think FMJ would be way too much for Pac. If Pac can get to 140 aand beat a serious belt holder, (MALIGNAGGI, HATTON) dont be surprised if the fight happens.
It would be HUGE & EASY money for FMJ.....

Yes, but you could also say who has Pac faced that would be as fast as Mayweather would be, would counter as hard and be as hard to hit as Mayweather? No one. In all reality, Mayweather would take Pac apart really pretty easy at those weights.
Even though someone said you can't bring up Marquez, it does actually show how Pacquiao would fare. He doesn't do well against good counter punchers and Mayweather at those weights was a lot faster and harder hitting, and also harder to hit, than Marquez would be.
I think what it comes down to though is this; Diaz is not a very good fighter. Mayweather is. Before everyone jumps about with the usual crap here, I really think he needs to fight one of the good fighters at this weight before matching him up with the likes of Mayweather. :lol1: Wait to see how he goes against Campbell, Diaz, Guzman (who fights similar to Mayweather) or one of the harder punching lightweights like Katsidis or Valero.
His win wasn't that impressive. Good but also expected.
