Mayweather best chance to beat Whitiker would be at 147 even better at 154.
Im not sure Whitiker would beat Mayweather at 154 maybe even 147 to be honest.
But 140 and below Whitiker wins.
I would pick Whitaker to win at 135, Mayweather to win at 140 or 147.
floyd was like flinch quick at 135..
i mean whitaker was FAST at 135... but floyd just had that like instant flinch type of speed... unreal.
I don't understand why you pick Whitaker's defense over Mayweather's i honestly don't. Simple question, who would have a better defense say at age 36 , both being tired in the final rounds of a losing battle against some 21 year old nicknamed "savage"? I say Mayweather and it's not even close. The problem with Whitaker's defense (similarly to Jones Jr.) are 2:
ENERGY. It takes too much energy to keep moving like that, really.
NO THROWING. While Whitaker is spliping punches he's not able to counter effectively if at all! Floyd can use his shoulder and the pocket.
Floyd in defense all the way.
The difference is that Whitaker at 36 years of age went the distance with both De La Hoya and Trinidad. Floyd hasn't proven that and I doubt he ever will.
Whitaker coud slip and counter just as effectively:
Whitaker not doing too bad here in the later rounds against the bigger and younger Trinidad.

Pernell Whittaker Was A Defensive Wizard In His Era. He Was Pound For Pound The Best Boxer In His Prime, Just As Mayweather Was. The Key To This Fight Would End Up Being Pernell's Stamina. Pernell Had Poor Stamina In Championship Rounds. Mayweather's Stamina Is Abnormal. He Spars Up To 15 Minute Rounds With Different Sparring Partners Moving In To Increase His Stamina. Floyd Was Bred To Be A Boxer. There Is Not A Boxer That Is Within This 130-154 Pound Era That Would Beat Mayweather. Mayweather Would Have Beaten A Prime Whittaker At 135,a Prime Trinidad At 147, And A Prime De La Hoya At 147. Floyd Has Radar Like Senses, And A Huge Percentage Of His Punches Land Like Laser Beams On His Opponents. mayweather By Unanimous Decision
Well, you are a bit too carried away, i'm a fan too but i'd give a chance to any of those fighters. Boxing is like soccer sometimes. While Holland was the better team Russia beat them in the quarters. But yeah, Mayweather owns nothing to any of those fighters in terms of talent and attributes.

Reedy you forgot chin and durability. Whittaker showed later that even when hit but FULL sized WW's and possibly one of the hardest hitting WW's in Tito that he can take it.
Whittaker in an interview said he considered the Trinidad fight his first loss.
well if u can hack the forum and give me 4 more slots, i could of added them

I gave Floyd the edge in speed (decisive) and power (decisive). I gave Whitaker the edge in defense (narrow) and resume (decisive).
I picked Whitaker to win, assuming the fight took place at 135. At 140 and above, I might be more inclined to pick Floyd, but considered 135 to feature the best stylistic matchup between the two. Pea would stink out the joint at 147, and Floyd would let him. Whitaker didn't stay at 140 long enough to gauge what he was all about, though it was a weight where Floyd was more offensive minded, which meant he got hit (a little) more.
Speed: Mayweather
Power: Mayweather
Defense: Even but if I had to pick one, I'd pick Whitaker.
Resume: Whitaker
Offense: Whitaker, their arsenal is about even but Whitaker was better at attacking without getting hit.
I think Whitaker would win a close decision prime for prime.
cosign.....
Mayweather has the advantages in speed and power and i would say their offense and defense are pretty much the same. The resume goes to whitaker and i can not pick a winner.
