In 2007, Floyd Mayweather Jr. made more money than any other athletes documented by SportsIllustrated.com, excluding only Tiger Woods (close to 128 million), Phil Mickelson (a little more than 62 million) and Lebron James (who only made ABOUT 200K more, at about 40.5 million).
Mayweather earned about $40,250,000. $20,000,000 was gained from salary/income and the remainder was made from 'endorsements'.
As impressive as that is, did you expect him to make more or less than they gathered.
Hatton, De La Hoya, WrestleMania, 'endorsements'......

the list is not very accurate because out there are people that made more money than some of the people there and they are not in the list
It's what I expected at that point, however he only made that kind of money because of DLH. Had he not fought DLH McMahon would have never wanted him to be a part of Wrestlemania and the Hatton fight may have never happened but certainly wouldn't have been as popular event as it was....DLH helped Floyds pockets in a major way.....Also I doubt Floyd ever makes that kind of money in a year again.
Wow, I cant beleive that sports illistrated fell for a professional wrestling work. Saying that PBF made $20 million was just kayfabe to play up the money angle. He most only made a couple million if that. But for the amount of work he had to do that was a pretty damn good pay off.
Yeah PBF made $20 million. And the Undertaker is really from death valley. Ted Dibiase really was a multi millionair. And Val Venus really was a porn star.

Have you ever asked yourself why they are called prizefighters.
Have you eve asked yourself why Manny wants 60-40,it's because he fights for money.Money is everything when boxers fight. It's all about a payday
yeah but i anit getting that money anytime soon so i souldn't care lol
the only thing money does is ruin great fights from happeing
I could see if that included his Dancing with the Stars pay whatever it was...plus he made more money for his fight with DLH. But he did not make $20 million for WWE. Common sense

That's weird. I dont seem to recall Mayweather endorsing any major products in 2007. The only major endorsement i've seen is with at&t and that's recently.
...................
It's pretty obvious....there's no way the WWE could've made money after paying some newbie boxer $20million.... Most of the wrestling fans didn't even really know him

Within the business, there is a disbelief that WWE is actually paying boxer Floyd Mayweather $20 million to face The Big Show at Wrestlemania XXIV on 3/30. One person involved directly indicated to Dave Meltzer that Mayweather is actually receiving a $1 to $2 million pay off plus a significant PPV percentage. At the very least, there is an internal resentment from the WWE superstars. There is a belief that the wrestler’s Wrestlemania pay offs will be sizeable smaller this year to pay Mayweather’s fee. Other wrestlers believe the number to be a work. Since WWE is publicly traded company, they can not deceive stock holders. However, it would be possible for Vince McMahon to pay Mayweather $20 million himself, thus not putting his payoff on the company books.
To justify the $20 million figure, WWE would need to generate in the neighborhood of 1.8 million buys to justify the number. Last year’s Wrestlemania did about 1.25 million PPV buys. As noted previously, WWE is charging $54.95 for this year’s Wrestlemania, and $69.95 for the HD broadcast. WWE is hoping to generate more PPV revenue with the increased price tag, but keep in mind that not all countries around the world charge the same, in fact, some charge less that the domestic price tag.

I would think some formula one drivers and soccer players should have made the top ten then. Not sure though.
Nah. It's just that North American Athletes (minus Mexicans) get paid ridiculous amounts of money.
