Better Pressurer, chin, and body puncher: Prime Castillo or Margarito Now???

Prime Castillo hands down

Castillo and Margarito aren't the same size and didn't compete in the same weight classes so this comparison id faulty IMO.. what Margarito doesn't have that Castillo has he makes up in volume punching, height, and power. To answer your question though.. P4P Castillo is a wayy better fighter then Margarito IMO.

I dont think it would have Castillo would have been too small for 147 so, while his skills may have been in tact, he may not have been able to dent Margarito. Also add to the factor that had they fought when Castillo was still relevant there would have been a chance that the fight would have been in Vegas and thus Castillo would have had to fight with 10oz gloves something he hated doing. Margarito would have grinded Castillo yeah at 147 and 5' 11" castillo would be in trouble.

JLC never even got dropped until the Hatton fight. His body attack was lethal. He could walk thru almost anything and keep the pressure on.

Insane. *off topic* I don't want to be ridiculous here, but it sucks that Chico is dead. Because imagine how badass fights with him and the likes of: Campbell, Katsidis, Guzman, JMM etc would be at 135. he was done at 135 so those matchups would have never happened. he would at best be 140 where Hatton is now

Prime Castillo (until the first chico fight) had never been down in his career, Solid chin, Great body work, great Pressurer. If floyd can handle a much faster more technical castillo with all the same skills as a margarito why wouldn't floyd be able to handle margarito? Honest question? Only advantage marg has is size but i dont think that plays a big part in his fights. IMO Castillo was one of the best inside fighters to lace them up. He wasn't the prototypical inside fighter where volume and bludgeoning took precedent over picking your spots and landing cleanly. The way he created punching avenues out of moving his opponents arms and hands is simply amazing. Add to that he never seemed out of position, he had a rock solid beard, and good stamina. Margarito is a volume and bludgeoning inside fighter. He would rather club you to death rather than make his spots and land clean. and I disagree that all things stand the same in comparing the Castillo that fought Mayweather and the Mayweather that would fight Margarito. For one, Castillo isn't just smaller he is much smaller at about 5'7" and for the most part a 135lb fighter. Also, we have to take into consideration that Mayweather is now 12lbs more than when he fought Castillo so, while it might be slight, the move to 147 has slowed Mayweather down a tad to wear a guy like Margarito would not have to work as hard as a guy like Castillo to get in front of Floyd hitting Floyd is a whole different ballgame though

Yeah agreed. Also as far as "Chins" are concerned on topic: Neither guy has been down from a punch to the head as far as I know. Tony has been down 2 times early in his career on body shots.............and JLC went down against Hatton. That's it. Of course everyone is familiar with JLC's TKO losses via cuts and even Chico couldn't put him down. That was fucking crazy. Castillo had everything than Tony has, even more except Size IMO. Prime Castillo as I said could Box and Brawl, had a great chin, stamina, good body puncher, great punch accuracy, good chin and good boxing skills. One of the most underrated things about Castillo is how accurate he was, people just need to watch his fights against Lazcano and Johnston who were top 5 lightweights at the time. Yeah agreed. Castillo, Easily. Margarito only has size, chin and stamina working for him, which lead him to where he is now. Shit...... JLC's stamina was as good or better in his prime.
