Shaq didint get away with murder with that contract because when he got it 4 years ago he should have been the MVP over steve nash that year. Grant Hill doesnt really fill marions void because hes basically 100 percent offense with 0 percent defense, unlike marion, who can gaurd all 5 positions. Basically Shaq was a risky move, but the thing is, the suns have no viable big man OTHER than him, when they gave away kurt thomas to seattle to stay under the luxury tax, that left them with amare at center, hes not a true center, nor does he play any semblence of defense. Shaq at least gives them a viable big man in the paint, something the suns didint have before on the defensive end.
Yeah, I sorta forgot that the Suns didn't have a legitimate big man before Shaq. And he is their only true defensive presence; they always give up 100+ a game so that'll definitely be an improvement. But the problem here is that he'll be 37 next year and who knows how much his abilities have declined? His role has diminished due to age, his minutes have dropped, he can't score as much as he did years ago and the Suns have to take him out of the game frequently because of their up-tempo style. Shaq's legs aren't meant for the Suns style. I have a bad feeling he'll be injured again and here on BS we are going to have to refer to him as the Vitali Klitschko of the NBA seeing as he is a big man and is plagued with injuries.
Floyd isn't even the highest paid boxer, let alone fourth-highest athlete. Oscar gets paid for fights he doesn't even see.
And, damn, Phil Mickelson. Tiger's a given, but damn. Phil. I like Phil, too. We're both lefties. But damn.
I gotta be honest with you, I haven't been following basketball as much since the NBA on NBC stopped running, so I don't know the relationship between Marion and the Suns. But I do know that Shaq is 36 and only has like two years left in the league I think (I don't even know if there good years anyway). IMO Shaq got away with murder with that contract. Granted, the Suns did have Grant Hill to fill Shawn Marion's void, but he's almost the same age as Shaq and I know damn well he isn't gonna play as well as he did when he was on the Pistons and Magic. He's probably gonna leave town soon anyway.

i dont blame him for making the move, the suns were gonna get ran out of town anyway and shawn marion was acting like a little girl, and he had been doing that for years, he had to do something.

Let's ask Steve Kerr

Where is Oscar De La Hoya? Didn't he make 55 million off of the Floyd fight?
That was last year, Anytime Oscar fights on PPV he's number 2 on the list. And Floyd DID NOT make no 20 Mil with that WrestleMania bullshit. It was more like 2 Mil tops, those numbers are inaccurate.
I almost spit my food out laughing at your post. What an idiot! Why would they lie? why would they put floyd up there? How many times has floyd even been on sports illustrated??? You're an ignorant blind hater!!! not even when it's in front of you, you still want to descredit floyd facts.
Well actually, you're way off on this one. And I'm telling you this as a Floyd fan. If Floyd's total in that article is 40mill counting the fake 20mill he made in the WWE, then his total is wrong since in reality, he only made 5million for the WWE gig. That means he has 15million dollars too much on his record and should drop down in the rankings.
those lists are just estimates. it has to be tiger, arod, lebron, manning, and kobe as the top 5. i bet floyds really in the top 15-20.

isnt the highest earning athlete in the world a formula 1 driver? dude gets paid 2 million just to wear a hat from some company.
That was Michael Schumacher, he retired a couple of years back, towards the end of his career, he was making up to $15M a race!!!
Tiger Woods always comes top of the international ones.
Although i don't know if they include endorsements, so maybe Beckham would be top.
He's on a par with Wood's if not just under him.
