Yep, I don't get it.
He has ridiculous amount of heart...
he's fast... and he can talk and move around any ring like a ballerina...
thats all anyone has ever said... and its all true.. so no realy over hyping done in this situation...
He just lacks power... and thats something people want as a mandatory for any hype in boxing... but its not anymore.
So no theres no over hyping... just the facts when ya dealin with paulie... i mean is he not fast with his hands and feet? and Does he not have alot fo heart? Thats all that has been said.
case closed...
Malignaggi can be a much better boxer than he has shown in his last 2 fights.
exactly, he has underperformed but none the less he has still won, and knows he can do much better.
two thing i think that stand in the way of malignaggi's is:
1) his right hand- seems injury prone
2) Buddy McGirt- no doubt good trainer, put paulie should have stuck with his usual training team, i never get why successful boxers change trainers who know their style and temperement best!
malignaggi has lots of potential, it's really down to him whether he can push himself into the elite.
Paulie has not shown what a good boxer HE IS in the last 2 fights, and i expect it to change against Hatton, i think he will have a great performance and beat Hatton by UD! but to say he is overrated is way off the mark!
Paulie gets the wins, but I think most of his reputation rests on his performance against Cotto, when he did very well and came as close as anyone else has to beating Miguel.
After seeing that fight I thought Paulie looked like a really good prospect, fast and tough, even if he doesn't have much power. He hasn't really performed as well as that since, I don't think, but its not like people say he's a worldbeater, so no, I don't think he's particularly overrated.
only in england...
i cant imagine the hatton v. paulie fight being a PPV in the US...seriously...
wasnt the fights of hatton and paulie from last weekend ppv in england?
Yeah. It was £14.95 ($30)
It will definately be PPV over here. It's a fucking joke. I watched the fight in the pub last weekend. Hatton was so shit and all the pissed up dicks were screaming and chanting, acting like he's some sort of superstar.
Yeah he is overrated. Not too much though.
Just think when he fights Hatton there will be TWO overrated cunts in the ring. and what's even worse is people will still pay to see it!

didnt score the fight for ndou but the fight was a disgrace one of the worst reffing jobs ive ever seen
and yes malignaggi is slightly better than ndou but is that really something to be proud? i mean ndou is a gatekeeper at best hes got 8 losses
malignaggi is a paper champ hes only won fights because he can sell tickets
he has defeated very few good fighters and not a single great fighter
he is a living proof of how anyone can win a world title if u have money and promoters looking out for u
First it was the ref AND the scoring...now just the ref.
what did the ref do that changed the fight SO MUCH that ndou wasnt given a fair chance to win?
malignaggi is SLIGHTLY better than ndou?
are you crazy? as far as im concerned it was one of his most (if not THEE most) dominating performance i've seen from malignaggi...the fact ndou got knocked down shows exactly how dominant he was in that fight.
how can a fighter win a fight because he sales tickets? that has nothing to do with it.
he's going to fight hatton in the fall...you say hatton is no good either right?
he did fight cotto to a loss but it was still impressive none-the-less and since he fought cotto you cant really say he's ducking anyone...thats paulie, no strength behind the punches but the heart of a true fighter...not some protected prospect...
as i said he's no elite fighter but certainly not garbage...
and for the record his hand WAS fractured (if you didnt see the article; it was confirmed by a doctor as a fracture).
so ndou got beat by a guy with one hand...
so paulie doesnt suck...he's not elite or great...but not bad.
He fought quite competitively with Cotto lets not forget, his only loss, and he was a Golden Gloves champion. Hell yes its you, the kid is a talent, an excellent mover.
Paulie is the greatest fighter of all time (with hair extensions).
:rofl::rofl:
Or you could do it DD style:
Paulie is the greatest fighter of all time
With hair extensions
he was fighting as the hometown fighter he was getting help from the judges even if we didnt see it, that night there was no way ndou coulda won an ud because the judges were bought just like they were in the herman fight when they gave those absurd scorecards
the ref also helped malignaggi win just look at how different the performed in a neutral venue where the fight coulda gone either way
and dont bring any ahnd broke excuse thats the excuse of the mediocre (cintron clottey maywether)
if malignaggi was ur average bald fighter he would have no fame because alone his boxing skills are nothing
How did you score the first fight with ndou? i dont remember exactly but it was something in the neighborhood of only 2 or 3 rounds for ndou (plus the 1 point deduction for the knockdown).
did you REALLY score it for ndou?
The second fight is different...he didnt look nearly as good and i dont care what anyone says a hurt hand makes a difference...let me break your right hand and see how you do; even if its against a guy you absolutely dominated before...i bet you dont look as good the second time around either...
After the first 6 rounds i had it 5 round to 1 round for paulie...so if the last 6 rounds were similar to the first 6 rounds in the rematch i would have scored it something like 10 rounds to 2 rounds to 9 rounds to 3 rounds...but the hand made the difference and almost lost him the fight.
in the herman n. fight the scorecards were way out of line...8 rounds to 4 rounds is crazy for how close the fight was...
but for the first ndou fight they were about right on point...at least my scorecard was...
paulie didnt have help...he's just simply BETTER than ndou...
and in the rematch ndou STILL couldnt beat him even though he hurt/broke/fractured his hand...
so paulie LITERALLY beat him with one hand...so what does that tell you?
ndou isnt as good as paulie...plain and simple.
yeah he is a slick boxer but that makes up for his lack of power
in other words he might have some sweet boxing skills but without power it makes him an average fighter nothing special like his fans made him out to be the reason for his fame is his popularity not his in ring ability
the only thing that has him in the spotlight is that ibf belt and remember how he won it by defeating a guy with 8 losses and in his hometown with help from the ref and judges
Paulie had help from the ref and judges in the first ndou fight???
He outclassed ndou in the first fight...
you cant tell me you honestly scored it for ndou???
if you did that is hating to the fullest extent of the word.
the judges didnt help him...i gave ndou only like 2 or 3 rounds in the first fight...the rematch i scored for paulie 115-113...he barely pulled it off but the first fight was VERY clear...
and his hometown is BK...not CT...
I don't think he's overrated... He has a lot of heart and he's a pretty decent boxer. I became a fan of his after the cotto fight. The left side of his body was completely red and his mouth was a grapefruit and he fought to the last second. He gets some credit for that in my book
Agreed. He has brittle hands and should let them heal properly before making an ass of himself inside the ring. If someone knows him, tell him to message me. I can tell him where Tito goes when he has hand trouble.
Overrated by my standards. He has a great following of fans. He is not the most exciting fighter in the world be he is an exciting character.
I watch his fights... and... where is this hype? hes got a quick little jab with the pop of a pillow fight...
