So then I ask, who else is there?
As a fan, I want Floyd to take on those who are perceived as challenges. That is what champions do. He is the #1 P4P Boxer in the world for a reason. He is currently undefeated for a reason. But I also understand that if he is going to continue to profit from the P4P status, if he is going to continue to call himself the game's best, if I MYSELF am going to continue to call him this era's best, he needs to fight the next threat to his throne. I guess I am the only Floyd fan on this board that sees it this way.
But, certain posters don't feel that Cotto is worthy enough to step in the ring with Floyd. Certain posters don't feel that Cotto is important enough to step in the ring with Floyd. So then I ask, who is? Who is worthy enough to step in the ring if it isn't Miguel Cotto? If there is no one, then what should
Floyd do?
And at least he's not fight bums in between like Cotto... In Cotto's last fight he was a 10:1 favorite! Are you aware of the last time Mayweather fought as a 10:1 favorite? Baldomir odds weren't even close to those sort of odds.

Didn't he just do that with his last two fights? These were both slim odd fights where the challenger was perceived as a serious threat. Then after he beats them they weren't a proper challenge.
His fight with DLH was a SD. Something wrong with rematching that? It's done all the time, but when Mayweather does it, it's a problem?
Don't worry...Mayweather will fight and KOTFO Cotto, and then you'll be crying again about someone else he should fight.
Again you ran from what I said because Ive found you to be a liar once again. Answer the question.
You've gotten severely owned in this thread. Take it like a man, and bow out.
I stop talking to people when they start putting words in my mouth, it just proves you will go to any length to try and make yourself look credible, where did I say the majority of people were picking those fighters to beat Floyd? Again if you cant answer this you should just leave because the only thing you have done up till this point is tell lies.
I wasn't aware that quoting you directly meant I was "putting words" into your mouth. You make the rest of us TRUE Floyd and boxing fans look bad.
Prefight polls on this board for hatton and dlh were about 66% in favor of Floyd and 33% in favor of the opponent, in other words 2-1 which arnt heavy odds.
Oh, so double the amount is considered "heavy"? I normally do not resort to insulting some one over the internet, but you are truly pathetic. Here you are claiming that the majority of people were predicting a Floyd loss to these fighters, you do the research yourself to find that you were actually wrong and try to downplay the significance of the actual information.
Oh, and you were right about the Baldomir fight. Look at all the predictions favoring Baldomir in this article.
http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-article/4578/baldomir-mayweather-fight-predictions/
I like this part where they completely confirm your claims
The oddsmakers keep underestimating Carlos Baldomir, but Floyd Mayweather won’t make that mistake.
I could even easily destroy this claim below..
Hatton was considered a threat and on Mayweather's level... till he got dominated and KOTFO. Same with DLH. Do you know what the odds were in those fights? They were slim. Not 1:1, but it's rare to find ANY boxing match that slim.
If I was Mayweather, I'd be doing the same god damn thing. Why am I going to work for 10 million when I can work for 50.
Brother you hit the nail on the head, but hate blinds people, going into those fights many had Mayweather losing his first fight, but after they lost, oh its they were never good enough to win in the first place. They simply just dont like Floyd, anyone with sense would rather make take more than less, but hate blinds, its really a sign of flattery.
But I'm sure by now you have realized that you've let your bias and love for Floyd cloud your common sense. Nuthuggetry blinds people.
I dont understand why people dont understand how things work. Answer this then, why do you think Floyd took the Baldy fight? Do you forget many said Baldy would be too strong that he would bully Floyd, that Floyd wont be able to knock him out. Its funny when Floyd beats people easily everybody forgets the pretalk. Of course a win over Baldy wont be bigger but fighters dont only fight for legacy, Roger said recently Floyd would fight Cotto, everybody I know who knows boxing believe Floyd will fight him, but his name isnt Money for nothing, he wants it when its at its peak. Open your eyes man, the only way Ricky would have fought Floyd 3 years ago was to get the most he could, basically cashing out because he knew a Floyd fight was the fight to get, when Floyd does that he is called scared, funny how that works.
Floyd could hold a press conference TOMORROW and announce that he will NEVER fight Cotto because he feels its too risky a fight for him, and yet u will still find a way to defend his decisions. There is no sense in trying to open your eyes on this matter. They are welded shut when it comes to seeing through all the B.S surrounding Floyd. Going to bed now.

Pre talk from who? A small number of people? You are talking as if there was a majority doubting Floyd in his fights. Tell me something, If I search for a poll for the Baldomir fight or the Hatton and DLH fight, will I find this large number of people you were speaking about? Or will I find a poll heavily favoring Floyd? Can you show me these articles doubting Floyd's chances? Shall I post the odds for those fights as well or will you just doubt the validity of the references?
sorry, but i thought you meant that floyds opponents need to have big ppv numbers, and thats why hes rematching oscar, not because it was a close fight.....
Contradictions up the A with this dude.
Whats even more funny is that many said the fight was close, if the fight was close as so many said after the fight, wouldnt a person want to see a rematch of a close fight? hmm

I didnt contradict myself. Again you must not have read the post, I said Id like to see them fight, but the reason it will wait is because of Cotto's prior numbers. Im just detailing why the fight is not in the near future, its because Floyd and his people want the most lucrative deals. Same reason he told Margo a couple years ago when Margo approached him why if they fought he would have to wait, because the fight would be bigger later. Baldy was Floyd's biggest guarantee at them time, Im guessing thats why he fought Baldy along with the fact that he could be the linear champ and also the biggest reason of all is that Baldy's NAME was at an all time high and it wasnt going to get any bigger because Baldy wasnt going to beat anyone else with a name at 147.
Seems as if he had no problem taking the Baldomir fight in a flash. Why not let Baldomir get a few more wins under HIS belt so that the fight could've been bigger?
Answer this honestly. Do u feel that Floyd's win over Baldomir would be bigger than a win over Cotto? 20yrs down the line, do u honestly think that fans and boxing historians will talk about Floyd's win over the journeyman Baldomir?
funny thing is,de la hoya is the biggest draw,so i guess floyd fans(not all) think he should only fight oscar over, and over, and over again.........:ugh:
(after all, oscar IS the biggest ppv star.....):nonono:
In one sentence u say that Cotto must get his ppv #'s up if he wants to see Floyd. Right? Ok, in that case, how do u justify Floyd's decisions to fight both Baldomir and Hatton, when prior to fighting Floyd, neither of them have ever had a succesfull ppv event? THAT'S where u contradict yourself my friend.
I knew he would decline to recognize that contradiction. Its the nature of his character. I would post more, but there really is no further need.
I dont see not one contradiction instead what I see is since its impossible to put every thought into a post, haha try again.

" If Cotto-Margarito Don't Do 500,000+ Buys, They Ain't Worthy Of Floyd"
Now, the thread title and content of your first post indicates that in order to be worthy of Floyd's attention, you need to be a successful PPV fighter as emphasized by the bolded part I have quoted. Yet, when someone points out Baldomir as an example of how that hasn't been the case n the past, you say this...
But that isn't what you stated in the threadtitle and initial post. Baldomir was never a successful PPV fighter, therefore, that contradicts what you state. Furthermore, you made this post.
Here, you are practically admitting that Hatton is NOT a successful PPV fighter. As a matter of fact, Hatton NEVER HAD a PPV fight PRIOR to Mayweather.
So you create a thread stating that in order for a fighter to be considered by Floyd as an opponent, they must already be established as a successful PPV star with more than 500,000 + PPV buys, but then state that Hatton wouldn't be able to do those numbers without Floyd? But that would mean that Hatton would had to had been an established and successful PPV fighter for Floyd to have accepted him as an opponent which is ovbiously not the case as you yourself pointed that out.
There are more gems like that in the thread, but I believe I have made my point. Keep your e-points. I have no need for them.
God damn! Someone just got fucking :owned:
You can't find one post from anyone, Floyd fan or detractor that says they don'w want to see htis fight.
Don't tell me Horus and Sonofasis have never said this.. along with a couple others.
I just don't really pay much attention to them but I have heard it on numerous occasions on the scene.
Show me one contradiction and Ill give you half my bank, Ill even admit I was wrong.
" If Cotto-Margarito Don't Do 500,000+ Buys, They Ain't Worthy Of Floyd"
Seriously at least not now because it will prove that a bigger fight can be made if they wait even longer. Arum was on point when he said the average sports fan vaguely has heard of Cotto and even less for Margarito and with it being on PPV that won't help their popularity. Get your PPV's up if you trying to see Money.

Floyd fought him to become the man at 147 and the coveted WBC belt.
But that isn't what you stated in the threadtitle and initial post. Baldomir was never a successful PPV fighter, therefore, that contradicts what you state. Furthermore, you made this post.
Put Hatton PPV here without Floyd see what he does.

I don't need to. The body of their work speaks for itself. You can't tell me that a poster who dedicates most of their time on this forum to discredit and belittle a possible opponent for Floyd and also create reasons or justifications as to why a fight isn't happening actually wants the fight to happen.
Just because they may end or begin their post with, "I want to see the fight like everyone else". A fan who wants the fight to happen will spend their time discussing the possible outcome of the fight, the implications of the fight, WHY the fight should happen. Certain posters here are doing just the opposite.
