Good god the motherfucker is quick as all hell. He's like watching Roy Jones, only he carries less power. He's actually a lot like the present version of Joan Guzman, only a bit more offensive-minded, like Guzman was in his 122 days.
Jimenez fought very well considering what he was up against. He landed some very hard, very clean shots. One or two of them got Gamboa's attention....the other one knocked him down.
excuses, excuses, excuses...according to just about everying I've been reading on several messageboards, Gamboa was supposed to walk right through this guy.
bullshit, real boxing fans knew this was going to be Gamboa's hardest challenge. dont know what messageboards you've been on.
excuses, excuses, excuses...according to just about everying I've been reading on several messageboards, Gamboa was supposed to walk right through this guy.
Actually, alot of people said this was gona be a hard test, some people actually said Jiminez had a chance,Jiminez is a legit fighter,a very good fighter,Gamboa won 9 outa 10 rounds, the only round he didnt win was the KD round, which IMO,looked more of a balance thing,he got hit with harder shots earlier
Great fighter, great skills, lots of promise but has to work on his defence . Needs more expirience, he's not quite ready for the big boys. Right now Jorge Linares would eat him alive.
excuses, excuses, excuses...according to just about everying I've been reading on several messageboards, Gamboa was supposed to walk right through this guy.
So winning 9 out of 10 rounds, outlanding, outhrowing and busting Jimenez up, who has never been stopped, isn't enough?
He's been keeping his hands down since he was a kid-that's a bad habit that I doubt ever changes.
other then that one thing...i really didnt see any big holes in his style...
James Toney used to keep his hands real low in some fights. But he always had his chin tucked in.
James Toney has a legendary chin and subtle head movement. Gamboa looks to have an average chin.
I consider dimnez to be a good fighter, Gamboa is sick.... :boxing:
Darling is a very good fighter, ive seen him a couple times,Gamboa to dominate the way he did,in only his 10th fight,is impressive
He was off balance. Won every other round.
excuses, excuses, excuses...according to just about everying I've been reading on several messageboards, Gamboa was supposed to walk right through this guy.
Yeah, getting KD'd much not mean much these days.:ugh:
Take a look at the KD,it was more of a off balance thing,Victor Ortiz's KD on the DLH undercard was more legit
he is very impressive...i think he can be a great fighter...but he needs to learn that he cant be putting his hands down with everyone...or he is going to get nate campbelled....lol
He's been keeping his hands down since he was a kid-that's a bad habit that I doubt ever changes.
Does Jiminez corner really think u can lose 9 rounds and win the fight? haha
How much punches did Darling take in the 10th round? Man,Gamboa came out swinging, great fight,i got Gamboa 9 rounds to 1
He seems to be strong mentaly, something a fighter needs,he seems so relaxed in the ring, thruout the whole fight hes been relaxed
He is relaxed but he leaves himself open when he punches in combinations. Jimenez isn't fast or brave enough to punch in between Gamboa's punches but he has still been able to catch Gamboa. It'll be dangerous for him in the future.
