aside from his granite chin sugar shane isnt really that good of a fighter
i commend him for his heart which gets him the win in most of his
fights but his so called hand speed isnt that evident to me.... well i know
he has hand and foot speed but he doesnt use it properly.
he doesnt jab
he doesnt box
and he doesnt throw crisp accurate shots this guy punches with his
eyes close (i thought judah was BS'ing but hes not).
I mean sugar shane has power but his string of Tko's kinda stopped
at lightweight where he was a knockout machine.
I hope judah beats sugar shane but I expect sugar shane to win a ud
because his stamina is unbelievable.
but that being said sugar is just too vulnerable to get hit by judah

Kids these days. Educate yourself if you haven't watched boxing back in Mosley's prime years. Don't just read off records from boxrec.com
He is a 3 division world champion, one of the fastest fighters of our generation and the most impressive lightweight to watch. He was the only person to fully concur Oscar De La Hoya and was unbeaten at lightweight. The only reason why he moved up was the get the bigger paydays. He could fight going backward, throw volume punches of combinations that were lightning fast, great chin, heart, work ethic and ability. He was also pound for pound the best fighter at the time Vernon Forrest upset him back in 2002.
Some of you guys should watch some of Mosley's older fights before saying some of the things that has been said in this thread.
He was brilliant to watch. He had very good footwork, head movement, feinting, speed, power, combinations.
He's obviously not in his prime anymore but he managed to give Cotto one of if not the toughest fight of his career so far.

There is no way I would argue with this. After the Cotto fight this sort of sentiment is fully founded and well deserved. He's better than he showed, but who gives a shit? We're only as good as our last performance.

he shouldn't have moved up! at lightweight their were few in history who could topple him but even with his weight lifting he was grossly overpowered at welter. he looked tiny next to winky wright!
This is exactly what i think.
Dont get me wrong hes a good fighter will go down in the history books
but to be considered great is somewhat an exaggeration
He could not box he had athleticsm and the heart the size an island that
is all.
In all honesty I don't thinks he's much of a boxer
he has speed
one the best chin's in the business
power and a lot of heart
That's what's been carrying him over... not his boxing skills

that is incorrect..... he has great boxing skills. he put on a boxing clinique against collazo
have you even seen him fight in his prime? he puts his punches together very well. hell people were calling him the next sugar ray leonard

His prime doesn't exist anymore.
Nowadays, he fights kinda afraid.
Similar to Bernard Hopkins
not true at all or please explain,
He was basically praised by everyone for schooling Collazo
stood toe to toe with the exception of a round or two against Cotto
I don't know. He may be "past prime" but he gave Cotto a better fight than did the four other champions on Cotto's resume, all of who are much younger.
Winky and Forrest were bigger than him.
I mean I like the guy but he hasnt really impressed me enough to consider
him great.
Like he has no style of boxing he just rushes in and punches
I think that worked with lighter weight fighters because he had so much
more power than they did. And he beat oscar becuase oscar doesnt know
the word backup (unless your name is trinidad) and hes much quicker than
oscar.
But really does he have a fighting style????????????????????
He is very similar to Oscar in almost everyway. I guess Oscar had a more lucky career but their fights were amazing and the second one could have gone either way with a slight advantage to Oscar. That's being said you are being ignorant when you judge a fighter's career by it's final months.
What im trying to say is sugar shane doesnt really have science behind
his boxing like mayweather, de la hoya, hopkins etc....
And by the way who did sugar shane beat
besides
Oscar (gotta give him credit)
or
Fernando Vargas (overrated)
I mean I like the guy but he hasnt really impressed me enough to consider
