de la Hoya is a natural 135lb'er then. :D
The man fought at the same weight as de la Hoya (150) all these topics are pissing me off. ALL THE FIGHT WAS FOR WAS RING RUST AND TO TRY NEW THINGS AT A LOWER WEIGHT! a warm up fight for Mayweather. Didn't anyone wonder why it went 12 rounds for no title? It was a glorified sparing season for de la Hoyas fans to see him in action free.
exactly finally someone got it right.....
I'm not a fan of talking, but de la Hoya would destroy Cotto, he would take him to school like he did Tito. As for Mayweather IMO he already beat him, this time he will knock him out.
The only thing De La Hoya is going to destroy in the fight is the padding in Cotto's beloved 8oz gloves because those are the only things he can hit at this stage of his career.
Floyd was MOVING UP fighting a guy with an IRON chin..
Dela was fighting a guy who had no business above 140. :puppy_dog
iron chin??baldy???the guy who got rocked badly against luciano perez(a former victim of alfonso gomez...)?
he should have knocked out FORBES (c fighter)..what weight class was that fight at anyway 147 or 154?SURE DID HE LOOKED LIKE A COWARD ALMOST AS BAD AS FLOYD!!DAMN HE SUCKS!!
When has Forbes ever been stopped or dropped? de la Hoya won every round.
Mayweather should of stopped Baldomir in 6 because he is a bum.
Mayweather was fighting a guy who was naturally much, much bigger than himself. And also had an iron chin.

You and the geriatric judge. Thank Buddha you're not judging pro matches.
Oscar fought recklessly cuz he had such a huge size advantage, so he took a lot of shots he shouldn't have. Decent performance but nothin special. He did what he had to do short of scorin the expected KO.
Your only as good as your opponent let's you look.
Your taking away from Forbes, everyone is saying he was shit etc - i thought he did well for a light punching little guy who'd moved up.
exactly... thas why de la hoya didnt look as good as everyone hoped... meaning a K.O... he looked like a good boxer though.

Forbes has never even been knocked down, let alone stopped. Also it is very hard to stop someone who is defensively minded like forbes was. Oscar did exactly what he needed to do and it was a good tune up fight for floyd.
I don't know where all this criticsmn of DLH is coming from, he is one of the best, most accomplished fighters.
Look at the quality of the opposition on his slate. No one in boxing can compere when it comed to consistently fighting the best. Yet he has one tune up fight against a former world champ (who was smaller but was meant to simulate floyd) and he gets slammed by a load of people who too easily forget what he has achieved!!!
IMO
