Oscar looked good. No denying that. I just didnt see a VERY brutally dominating DLH. He didnt have to knock him out, but he needed to look ultimately superior or fighting like the legend that he is. Was his performance tonight impressive to make DLH/Mayweather a more attractive fight?
sorry delahoya fans although he didnt look bad, he's nowhere near good enough for floyd anymore and this is coming from a cotto fan. if he couldnt hurt or knockout forbes, what is he gona do against floyd? whoever said floyd was gona knockout dlh in the rematch is dead on right. at this point in oscars career he cant beat any of the top ten welterweights. cotto, floyd, marg, mosely, quintana, pw, cintron, berto, judah, clotty none of them!
I agree with most people that said Oscar looked good tonight. The jab was definitely on for him but he seemed to get hit alot by a far less superior boxer than pretty girl!!! Imagine what pretty girl would have done to oscar with faster reflexis and that stupid pot shot that he likes to score with!!
Do you even acknowledge that he wasnt fighting Mayweather...completly diffrent beast....
Sure you'll look fast against a turtle......
Now race a cheetah.......
copy.
Dude, in all seriousness, you're posts are getting dumber each time out. How the hell did you determine that Forbes is a turtle, or anywhere near to being slow for that matter?
Btw, I haven't said in any sort of way that Steve Forbes is on par with Floyd. I do sincerely think that Oscar demonstrated that he and his team are very aware of his shortcomings against Floyd and that they have worked to fix them. As I said 3 or 4 times now, looks like we have a bet in September.
the oscar that lost to floyd would have done better, maybe a ko.
just a little off this time. a little slower.getting hit a little bit more.
age? no just rusty...
Disagree 100%. ODLH looked much sharper and much more focused for the whole fight tonight than he did against Floyd. As others observed, he jabbed more, he didn't stoop down unnecessarily and he showed better conditioning (even though he appeared to be more fit in the Mayweather fight) than he did against Mayweather.
Oscar/floyd is stupid and I see Floyd dominating Oscar even more now that Forbes was able to land uppercuts and hooks on Oscars head tonight. :boxing:
I hate Oscar, he is no good no more and because he clearly beat forbes*like he was suppose to do* everyone is swetting his balls now. :nonono:
Wow, not even in a roid raging fit of hyperbole could I manage to declare that Floyd "dominated" Oscar.
Who puts too much wieght on broadcasting? Why would I let them dictate the way I feel? Or even let them form an opinion for me?
He wasn't spectacular, but he wasn't that bad. Aside from a few exchanges were he was hit cleanly he won every round. He was active as well. I don't give a shit about the rematch and in no way am I using this to justify a rematch. From what I saw he did what he was supposed to do.
How did DLH look good? Considering the opponent he was suppose to walk through Forbes. If you think he looked impressive then you give too much weight to the broadcasting crew.
If any other top WW fighter struggled that way tonight against Forbes.....Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Williams, Quintana the broadcasting crew would've been very critical of there performance. Look what they did to Mayweather when he fought Baldomir.
Forbes was hand picked, fundamentaly sound but thats about it. Not really fast, not really slick, no real power, not really high work rate, not really strong even at 130lbs, less reach, shorter, physically weaker.
A lot of people on here are saying oscar looked terrible tonight and that mayweather/dlh II is gonna be even easier etc etc, but I thought oscar looked good. The jab was working great and he didn't seem to gas out.

I thought DLH looked impressive enough. He didn't gas and he was using his jab. DLH looked better boxing than he did trying to pressure.

I dissagree with everything you just said...sorry.
i think dlh intentions were to fight the whole 12 rounds.. not to exactly win by KO..
dlh said he wanted to PRACTICE.. it was clearly a sparring session.. i love forbes man.. props to the doode..
oscar looked decent.. but look who he was against.. i thought forbes did well.. my .02
People are talking about biased commentators but wow the pbf nuthuggers are coming from all angles seems like the cotto fans are second in line with the hate ,he boxed he didnt run in and brawl if he fights like this against pbf it will be a much better fight the style he brought due to roach training was garbage, and boring this fight was boring lol thats coming mostly from pbf fans thats ridiculous.
yeah I agree Im sort of shocked by the comments about DLH. I think he can compete with both Cotto and Floyd.

Oscar looked a bit flabby right above the belt-line, and he still looked to tire out a bit in the later-middle rounds. He might benefit from some more roadwork in the following months. Or maybe he should talk to B-hop and Mackie Shilstone.
But he did work the jab more (although even more jabs wouldn't hurt), and the left hook is still there.
Beyond that, he didn't look too much better than was expected. But the fight with Floyd is inevitable, so hopefully it will be somewhat competitive (stamina stamina stamina, Oscar). The 24/7 should be good, what with all the Mayweathers and whatnot.

Yes it does. This will make alot more believers when Floyd says that he will knock Oscar out. Oscar didn't land shit....same old bodyshots and Forbes slipped most of the big punches.
With Floyd's footwork, it's the same fight.
