Mine is Mercer vs. Morrison. yall remember this ko? the beginning of the video has bad quality but the slow motion replay is clear.

I don't think so because Robinson had said he studied hours of footage of Fullmer's fights and noticed that Fullmer had a bad habit of dropping his right hand on the way in, he timed that left hook to perfection.
A mention should also go to Mike McCallum knocking out Donald Curry with a beautiful left hook.
Yes, it was definitely a perfectly calculated left hook.
Curry landed a nice left hook before taking a nicer one himself.

Although there were some worse ones already mentioned, I would have to say Ruddock vs. Dokes was right up there.
It was a scary KO. Dokes was already out cold and the ropes were holding him up. The ref was coming in to stop it but Ruddock cold cocked him once more with a left hook.
Dokes actually needed help to start breathing again after that KO.
yeah, you right. Dokes was out cold but the ropes held him up. Ruddock got some serious leverage with that last left hook that he landed. Ref was late on this one too.

It looked like walcott was VERY concerned about getting hit. to move straight back like that rather than throwing the jab and getting off the ropes. BOOOOOM!!!!http://youtube.com/watch?v=M9msELiZKyU
I think Fullmer forgot all about Robinson's left hand after taking those two consecutive right hooks to the body before he was dropped by the left. http://youtube.com/watch?v=2jeZIyjxss4

As far as 1 punch KO's go. Not many can beat Marciano vs Walcott 1 and Robinson vs Fullmer 2.

It was a fatality!
Yeah, I know Benny Paret died. I was speaking about the fight between Johannson vs. Machen that "themanchine" posted. I was saying that this fight could have been a fatality too. Go back to the statement that you responded to and check out that KO above the statement. The ref was waaaay late on this fight too.
Absolutey f**king rediculas! the ref should go down for man slaughter!! what the hell was the ref doing? he was dead on his feet before the 10 uppercuts! it should have been stopped.
Disgrace to boxing!
Ruby Goldstein had a reputation of stopping fights too early prior to this fight, so that could have affected his judgment. He did make a bad decision though.
daaaaaam. this fight should have stopped after the first knock down. he landed another 10-15 clean shots on a defenseless fighter. could have easily been a fatality. the ref was still counting while the medics were in the ring treating the boxer.

Yeah, I have to agree, those blows were serious. I imagine the gloves were much thinner back then.

Whitaker was never a big puncher but he KO'd Hurtado in a pretty nasty manner. And I remember when Butterbean KO'd some stupid wrestler at Wrestlemania who tried to box with him. That was a KO so harsh it was hard to cheer for.
All those left hooks...ouch.

It doesn't look like this guy had very much training in boxing. lol. On the second knockdown (he never should have got up from the first) he looked like he was a child reaching out for some candy before his head snapped back from that boulder that slammed into it.

wow that video is actually a bit distressing to watch..... sad stuff
yeah it is. fans get upset with "early" stoppages but the boxers have to be protected to some degree. when a boxer dies, it puts things into a totally different context.
