Answer yes or not
I would like Calzaghe more if he continues to fight past the RJJ fight. Atleast he should fight another top 5 light heavyweight and fight a young buck like Miranda and also Pavlik.
Don't really see a lot to dis like about him, so I wonder more about the people whom do with any real degree.
He's a sound guy, worked hard from a young age, achieved great things in a crummy gym, non pro coach, and shown skills, new styles, and inspiration inside the ring. Great ambassador for the sport, and deserves credit.
Im not a real big fan of his, but I appreciate his skill. He does slap quite a bit, but his style eventually gets to people and he pulls out victories. Plus he doesn't hold very much and lets his hands go even if they are slaps.
It really has very little to do with power, he just cuts off the ring and pressures with flurries. Nobody likes to get hit, especially by someone with the stamina of Calzaghe. Did you see Manfredo hurt at all? For as long as it lasted he was against the ropes eating shots (although also slipping alot of them).
On-topic: Not really, in interviews with Setanta he seemed very arrogant. However after the fight with Hopkins he seemed a lot more humble. It almost seems natural for fighters on top of the p4p list to behave this way though I don't think it's a good excuse to do it in the first place.
Not wishing to stir up trouble, I just found it funny you call someone arrogant and have an extremely arrogant big-head in your avatar.

Yes, I like Joe. He is a good guy and has phenomenal skills. Shame he lacks power nowadays. He used to punch hard. So hard he broke his hands and hasn't been the same since!

He's a helluva shoe-shiner. He fights like he's trying ONLY to steal rounds by flurrying. I don't even think his punches would score in the Olympics. :nonono:
He has enough power to keep his opponents like Hopkins against the ropes. And if he is so weak then how come almost all the opponents he has fought fight him on the ropes?

His fights are boring?
He's had about two boring fights in his entire career.
The topic creator probably hates white fighters, isn't that obvious? He probably even finds Pavlik to be boring... LOL
