Where would that place Roy Jones Jr in the P4P rankings? Considering he's around 50-60 last time I checked (The Ring 100) and he has the chance of beating P4P No.3, where would you place him?
Would he be P4P of all time? Or under SRR?
I think Joe should win this fight for sure. Tho Roy can make it interesting. I believe Joe would have given Roy hell in his prime and even tho Im from England Im under no pretence.
Jones would have figured Calzaghe out by mid stage and taken over completely in my opinion.
Oh and you cant deny Jones accomplishments and his talent in his prime. due to that alone I put him about 5 ATG. Just my opinion:boxing:
I think thats exactly why he wants the fight so bad...
He has nought to lose, if Joe beats him then Roys old past his prime. In his prime he wudda kicked joes ass
If he makes it close, then an aging Roy fought a close fight with a top 5 p4p guy, in his prime he wudda won
If he wins, hes past his prime, getting older and still beat a top 5 p4p guy.
He has it all to gain, and the fight is winnable imo.
You ammalgamated the Ring Magazine ATG p4p list and todays p4p list. If Jones beats Calzaghe now he should be top 10 p4p in todays list and...................top 15 p4p ATG list.
if Jones beat Calzaghe then the top 10 p4p list should be reshuffled a little and some of the underrated smaller fighters should get more recognition
(aswell as give Jones the props he would deserve)
Yeah it did look fucked up lol. I think Roy Jones is about 55%~ of his former self, his legs and reflexes have gone a bit and so has his confidence. He still has a lot of speed and power though so it will be very interesting to watch him vs Calzaghe.
Its funny on fight night round 3 the game.. one of the commentators said... roy was so good in his prime he could give half of his talent away and still beat half the guys out there...
seems to be true..
That was the first time a fighter complained about an injury you could actually see.... his left bicep looked seriously weird... did you see it?

And for all we know he could have 1 last great fight in him, his left was hurt against Trinidad, I wonder how much that would have mattered.
