Why does Calzaghe and fans constantly brag about beating Jeff Lacy???

None of them gave Joe a hope in hell, and it was no different with most pro boxers who gave their opinion, sports writers, just about everyone in the whole world thought Lacy was gonna smash Joe to pieces. Lacy, post-Calzaghe, has never been the same. The reason he struggled with Manfredo is because A) Calzaghe mentally broke him and he still hasn't recovered, and B) Terrible injury to the rotator cuff, which he hadn't recovered from. Jeff is a warrior. He is a strong guy with a big heart, and it's pretty impressive how he has fought on with an excruciating injury. Doctors don't know how he even managed to carry on fighting with a rotator cuff injury like that. So, before you discredit Joe, just remember that the Lacy you have seen post-Calzaghe is a totally different fighter to the one you saw pre-Calzaghe. Lacy will never be as good as he was before.

Lacy was to be the opponent who finally exposed Calzaghe as the Ottke style protected fighter he was perceived to be, and who demonstrated that no way could Calzaghe live with an elite US fighter.
