easy question. many posters here keep using Hatton as an example of how Cotto would get easily beaten by Floyd. I would assume that people would know difference between styles and attributes, but apparently.........
There are definitly clear cut comparisons that can be made between Cotto and Hatton.
They both have the ability to box/punch, which was what Hatton did to the majority of his opponents. The difference is that Hatton has a much rougher, mauling style, and has a higher workrate.
Hatton got his ring intelligence knocked out of him before the Floyd fight.
At this point, that's the difference.
cotto is a boxer/puncher, hatton is a brawler
Youve clearly only seen a few of Hatton's fights, for the most part he plays the role of a boxer/puncher, but he abandoned that agianst Floyd becuase it was evident he would not be able to box with him. The Castillo fight was much more of a brawl becuase Castillo fights are always brawls.

Whoever said that Cotto and Hatton are alike in their styles and who wanna use the Hatton fight as a measuring stick on how Mayweather would beat Cotto obviously don't know much about boxing and shouldn't even be bothered with.

Two legs, two hands and a suspect chin. It ends there.
lmao you dumb ass he never said he couldn't do that to margarito. Do you ever post anything good? he was referring to cotto/mayweather
:nonono:
I kind of see the point of your thread, I was discussing with a Cotto fan yesterday and he mention the samething exactly..I said i favoured Margarito by a slim margin but he suggest Cotto would outbox the slower Margarito..I then said Margarito would draw Cotto into a war because Cotto isnt smart enough to just box/Potshot like Mayweather would do.
So i do see the point of your thread.
are you really this much of a pendeja? this is about the 4th time you make yourself look like a kid with down syndrome when addressing me.
and i take that part about down syndrome back. i know insulting those with that handicap by comparing them to you is was pretty low.
lmao you continue to own yourself :nonono: here is the quote from a reply from you on my other thread
"fuckin post em up if not, stop crying."
now here you are saying but but but many posters say hatton blah blah but but but so stop fucken crying and post the people that said that like you wanted me to do lmao :owned: yourself!!
you are so awesome. we NEED to be bestfriends.

Nowadays he is completely different. If we are comparing him to Floyd's opponents I'd say Cotto is much more like the aged De La Hoya we saw trying to be a pressure fighter. Just like De La Hoya he comes ahead in relatively straight lines, and does his best work behind his jab. The difference between the two is that Cotto actually jabs consistently and can actually make something count once that jab has unlocked the door.
i think another difference between Cotto and De La is the distance they give themselves when trying to attack the body. Cotto is more liberal with the distance allowing for max strength on his body attack. De La smothered his distance and was resorted to throwing shots almost belly to belly with Floyd.
i still think he loses to Floyd.
me too. but i also think it just might be the hardest test of floyd's career.
He lives on the planet Earth, but that's it. They ain't nothin alike as fighters and a fight between Floyd and Cotto has nothing to do with Floyd v Hatton.

They're not! People just look at their pressure & aggressive styles of fighting and figure their both the same...mostly to discredit Cotto & to say he hasn't earned a shot at Floyd!

A younger Cotto than we see now was certainly a little bit like Hatton, relying on power and aggressiveness. I think earlier in his career he was something of a lesser version, fighting a similar style, but without Hatton's bounce and speed.

I still think he loses to Mayweather though.
