Wow, yeah the Hopkins-Johnson fight is ancient. 1997, I think. Johnson hadn't fought much great competition at that point but was a solid fighter. One of Bernard's best wins, IMO.
I wasnt necessarily referring to that match in 1997, more to the fact that Tarver and Johnson had some pretty even matches, and we saw how Bernard dismantled Tarver just recently. Some people say Tarver was "shot", but he just won another belt Saturday, so i think its fair to say Bernard was just better than Tarver and made him look bad like he does every fighter that steps in the ring with him.
More like Joe didn't want to have the task of making 168 again. Heaven forbid. Joe doesn't care if this is at 168 because he's been looking for an excuse to move up, and you shouldn't either.
I'm not looking for excuses, but we all know Bernard has every advantage possible in this fight, yet all we hear about is how he's 96 years old and washed up, so as not to give Calzaghe any credit if he wins and so they can pin the infamous "exposed" label on him if he loses.
Yeah, too bad the fight can't be at 168 for all Joe's belts and undisputed title. But of course that would give Joe an advantage, heaven forbid.

I think he's referring to his domination over Glen Johnson, which was a truly a beat down and the only time Johnson was ever stopped.
Oh, okay.
Thank you very much.
Yup the True Lightheavy weight championship, I think Saturday further showed that Bernard is by far the best lightheavy weight in the world.
How did Saturday show this?
Is that all that will be at stake on the 19th of April?
Apart from pride and a cementation of a place in history, of course.
Yep, that's it. Hopkins' Ringpiece. I mean belt.
