That would be a great fight. If Jones has faded enough, Miranda could KO him. I am not sure if RJJ has faded that much yet. Tossup at best. Id say RJJ by UD.
I watched the Trinidad fight and what alarmed me was that a guy like Trinidad managed to push Jones back to the ropes, Winky defense or not, if a guy like Trinidad could push him back to the ropes, I have no doubt Miranda could do it and could put some hurt on Jones when he's on the ropes. Jones relied on foot speed a lot.
And Jones didn't really use the Winky defense in the Hanshaw fight, he fought off the ropes most of the time and Hanshaw landed some good stuff on the ropes.
Let me break this down.
First of all, Jones WANTED Tito to come to him - he allowed Tito to "push him back." Truthfully, Tito never took the bait. And it's why Jones wasn't able to KO him; especially after Tito got dropped. Once he felt Jones' power, he became a boxer. When the hell has Tito ever done that? He learned his lesson against Hopkins and decided never to be so dumb again.
Second, Hanshaw landed some good shots but Roy saw them all coming and smothered most. And he fought VERY well off the ropes - witha high workrate.
Against the ropes is where he wants to be. TRUST ME.
Well looks like most people think Jones would win it.
:boxing:
Our Roy Jones is an awesome Jones, he reign sfrom the light heavyweight division..:lol1:

Sing it to the melody of the "awesome god" song ;)

lol. oh damn, thats ruff. when did this happen? and who posted that thread?
Jones by UD. Miranda could easily fuck up RJJ if he connects with a solid right hand but I think Jones' defense and ability to still be somewhat elusive spoils a Miranda knockout.
I love Miranda, but Jones would be well aware of his power and will do what he needs to do to win.
Even this faded edition of Jones, would beat any Super Middle and Lt. Heavyweight out there right now.
He no longer depends on pure reflexes to avoid punches, but now has a guard. He still is faster than anyone else and has more ring smarts than even B-hop.
The reason nobody is willing to fight him is because they know he should be avoided, which is why you see Jones calling everyone else out even though he represents a huge payday for them.

Also didnt Jones land the double uppercut off the ropes that led to Hanshaw going down? :boxing:
Go watch that round again. Jones landed a THREE punch combination on Hanshaw, a left hook, a short inside right, and then a left uppercut. Fucking handspeed on that guy has always been unbelievable. :boxing:
Still it worries me when he goes to the ropes and lets his opponents attack.
On the one hand, it may make him easier to hit - and it certainly isn't the dominant Roy of old that everybody loved. On the other hand, however, its a necessary adjustment in the face of his dimishing footspeed and reflexes. Ali did the same thing.
Yeah, thats actually tarvers blue glove touching his face... i put tarvers glove and floyds together and blurred the colors together
Nice job. :boxing:
A young Roy wouldn't even make this fight worth contemplating. An old Roy, however...
...would still win handily. :boxing: Y'all musta' forgot.
