Ricardo Lopez was one of the most fluid fighters ever seen, & would probably favour him.
Yuri Arbachakov(?) also deserves a mention.
Arbachakov turned pro late after an extenxive amateur career, already well into his prime, but when Arbachakov had it together, he was an absolute pleasure to watch.
Ray Robinson out of the guys listed.
Probably Juan Marquez out of the current fighters.
How about Lennox Lewis. Talk about fluid, I mean this man was a master at controlling fights and not wasting any punches. One of, if not the greatest jab in boxing history and followed by a wallop of a right cross. He would start off slow, feeling out with his jab, and the rest of the fight it was jabs followed by right crosses and throw in some of his uppercuts. He was as fluid a fighter, and heavyweight as you will see.
Yes just watch the speed of Patterson in his second match with Johansson ........the final round, after the first spectacular left hook which dropped Ingo, Patterson goes bananas! if you thought Tyson and Ali had fast hands just watch this guy.
I've no idea how to post You Tube vids though....sorry!
Floyd Patterson combos where great to watch imo.
Patterson looked all-around great against Archie Moore. Patterson's best moments in the fight come after the first two minutes.
Fight commentated by Rocky Marciano.
who are the most fluid /fluent fighters u have ever seen
Muhammad Ali
Ray Robinson
Ray Leonard
Terry Norris
Roy Jones JR
Michael Nunn
who u got
Gee, not a single white guy (or non black, for that matter) in the whole poll. Ever heard of Willie Pep?
mayweather jr is the most fluent fighter of the past 3 decades at least. i made a long post about him regarding this. he does everything naturally and his rhythm is damn near flawless. i put examples in like when he fought justin jukko, from his snapping jab to his counter left hook on him, it was just an amazing showing. another example of floyd's fluidity was when he fought gatti. it was a fight where he got to show off all of his offensive skill, where gatti became his punching that night. and for the poster who claimed toney, whitaker, and floyd where defensive minded, i can agree to a certain point, but the thing about floyd that makes him stand out more than those other two, is how accurate he was, and his punch output was for the most part nearly half landed every fight. his accuracy just goes to show his rhythm and timing. floyd's skill set imo is/was more impressive than ali, toney, leonard, and whitaker because of how his upperbody movement was. his upperbody movement sets him apart from the rest. he could land a quick right hook off of the ropes while moving out of the way of a huge punch like he did against corley. floyd just knows where he is mainly at all times. he does everything right and is just very fluent with his movement whether upper or foot movement.
ali's foot movement and quick dodging movement puts him up there also. he moved so gracefully in the ring. i don't even have to go in depth with him, because most eveybody boxing fan knows his style. he is without a shadow of a doubt, imo, the greatest heavyweight champion in history, bar none.
toney makes the cut because for his size, he has got the best head movement that i have ever seen next to mayweather jr. this man is just brilliant when he fought, just simply put, brilliant.
ray robinson imo is the greatest fighter p4p in history. his power and speed have not been matched when you talk about applying it with an array of technical skill. he is truly an all time great, the greatest i have ever seen. his left hook was a thing of beauty, and he moved great. the thing that gets me with him, and mayweather is surely following in his footsteps is how he applied all of his great movement at higher tp higher weight classes, but he knocked out light heavyweights, so that outs him way above the rest.
some other mentions are ivan calderon, the best pure boxer next to floyd today. he is just fluent to the core.
terry norris was just the best mover for his time, just fun to watch.
i have to go out on a limb and say holyfield was fluent for a heavyweight, cruiserweight. he moved well and threw sharp punches very well imo for someone his size.
Jersey Joe Walcott was one of the best movers ever, perhaps more graceful than Ali, the 'Walcott Waltz' was his signature. I may have a look through You Tube for some footage. I remember the Joe Louis fights being good examples of the ringcraft of this old master!
Walcott vs Marciano I rd 1.
Walcott vs Louis I.
Walcott vs Louis II.
Walcott loses this one but he was handling Louis easily before getting knocked out by a flurry of punches.
Walcott KO's Charles.
James Toney......although he was a gifted athlete it wasn't his athleticisim that beat many guys. He was one of the most natural looking boxers I ever saw. He always just looked so comfortable and fluid in there.
With more dietary and workout discipline (i.e. Hopkins, Mosley, PBF) he could've been a top 10 ATG.

When i watch people like Mayweather ,Whitaker ,Toney yes they are Fluid /Fluent but because they are so defensive minded they have a tendancy to keep changing their Rythm so they cant be timed for a punch etc ,this is why i feel people like Michael Nunn ,Muhammad Ali were more Fluid /fluent im not saying Nunn ,Ali did not use lateral movent cause they did
I wouldn't say he is the most fluid/fluent fighter there ever was but Mike McCallum looked very 'natural' in the ring.
Pernell Whitaker vs Haugen
Pernell Whitaker vs Ramirez II. Watch 7:55 :lol1:
James Toney (especially in the fight with Iran Barkley 3:45-4:40).
