Julian Jackson and Joe Frazier.
Ha Ha i love those Glasses that Ray Leonard & Jackson had to wear ,but would i fuck where them glasses even if i could'nt see i would refuse to wear them things :lol1:
I went through the same thing. If you want to box afterwards, I read you shouldnt do Laser surgery, but an older alternative method.
really? how does boxing effect a person with laser surgery?
I would say Tito Tinidad. He must have had glaucoma or something cause he just could not see that jab coming from Winky all night. He was like a human Pez dispenser.
It's a shame what happened to Pryor.
From what I know, he actually had a fight coming up when it was discovered that he had cataracts in his eyes, the sanctioning bodies wouldn't give him a license after that and he retired. But I understand your point.
That was a long time ago so you could be right. All I know for sure is that Pryor had let his life and career go to hell because of his coke habit. Seeing a 31 y/o future hall of famer getting stopped by a nobody like Bobby Joe Young on a minor cable network was depressing. It wasn't until I just looked it up that I learned that Pryor still fought a few times after that on minor league circuits.
Larry Holmes wore contact lenses when he fought Holyfield. Harry Greb (and probably countless others fought while blind in one eye).
I didnt know that about Holmes. Did he get medical clearance before fighting? This seems dangerous.

Like what? I will only turn 20 in 4 years though so maybe by then there will be something new.
Also, did you fight with contacts then? Never had any problems with them falling out or something?
You're right about Pryor having bad eyes. However it was his terrible cocaine problems that really ended his career. No promoter was willing to trust him to show up at that point.

I got -6 rating in eyesight... Contact lenzes go till -20 though.
You guys think it's possible for me to box amateur with lenzes? I'm 16 years old atm and my eyesight will probably get worse until I'll be 20yrs old.
I'm probably getting laser surgery at 20yrs age though, is it also possible to box amateur after being treated with laser surgery?
Thanks in advance!

Aaron Pryor fought his last few fights with cataracts in one of his eyes, he had to retire because of that. Frazier had bad eyesight towards the end of his career.
