I caught the replay of it and damn, it was the first MMA fight that was abit exciting. That Cung Li guy was in like dominating fashion against Shamrock. Isn't Shamrock suppose to be legendary, whoop everyone's ass? The final round, I think it was the 3rd, it was back and forth stand up trading bombs. Unfortunately, I don't think it was enough to convince me to be a true fan because the majority of the fights do end up on the ground.
For Ken to be fightin is shittin on his legacy, Frank is cementing it, he's still a top fighter and was competitive against Le, his forearm broke, cant do much about that
Maybe Im thinking of a different guy, but isnt Frank Shamrock old enough to have seen The Passions of the Christ live?
He is ancient. For him and his brother Ken to still be fighting is sad because they are shitting on their legacies.
sorry, kid, thats not always the case..some of the gorund action is awesome. And I ama boxing fan first and foremost, but watching two ju jit su (sp)..guys go at, break submission holds etc. its pretty exciting and you have to respect it. The fans WATCHING LIVE may boo because its hard to see whats going on when they are on the ground you are sitting in nose bleeds seats.
i didnt say it sucked but lets keep it real, the fans love stand up more than submissions. is that not true?
That fight had the potential to be one of the best MMA fights ever, too bad Shamrock can't go five hard rounds any more..
Still it's one of the best MMA fights I've seen in a long time.

during the pre-fight stage frank swore that he would stand and trade with cung and beat him at his own game. he worked hard on his boxing and kept his word. and when they did trade fists frank did fairly well, showing decent upperbody movement, but in the end it was the overall accumulation of kicks that stopped frank. i'll give him props for never attempting the takedown, big props for cung coming in as the underdog.
i hate how mma fans say shit like,"well your a boxing fan so thats prolly why you enjoyed it because it was mostly all standup"
stfu up with that shit. ALL fans like it more when its stand up. Thats why you hear fans cheering more when they trade standing up rather than going on the ground.
I caught the 3rd round, good stuff. Frank looked like he caught Li with some good bombs toward the end of the round, but then looked like he threw his shoulder out or something before quitting.
