is this simply to gain a belt in another weightclass similar to what Erik was trying to do? There are bigger money fights and more interesting ones at 130, so i dont really get this one, especially if its a PPV. How do you even sell it, David Diaz recieved a gift against Morales while Pac destroyed Erik are we supposed to somehow be intrigued by that. Is this simply a tune-up to see how he feels at the weight or what?
OOOOOKAY SURRRRRRRRRRE...........:ugh:
Ok...since YOU'RE so sure that Guzman is THAT good...then dont forget he wants Pacquiao just as much as JMM. Guzman KNOWS he needs to go thru JMM in order to get a shot at Pacquiao. Yet all i ever hear is how bad Guzman would destroy Pacquiao. Wouldnt that mean JMM should be shitting himself cuz Guzman sees JMM as a gatekeeper to Pac and that since Guzman is THAT good he'd destroy JMM just as easily??
Accurate and fast as Guzman is...he's a volume puncher. Not a counterpuncher. Plus he fights backing up baiting opponents to the ropes only to turn em around...get a quick combo in...and back up to the opposite side of the ring. Boring as that sounds it's worked for him. But backing up is the absolute last thing you should do when fighting pacman. His punch output will surely drop if he's getting bombed by Pac. Even if Guzman blocks most of the shots because he'll either be too tired or have is arms too sore to throw in bunches. He'll have little option but to back up. He gets knocked the fuck out by the 1-2 if he backs straight up. End of story.OOOOOKAY SURRRRRRRRRRE...........:ugh:
He would, I mean he's twice as fast as Marquez and just as accurate as Marquez. Guzman would turn the slop fest that's considered a "Paq fight" and clean that shit up swiftly. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a TKO in the process.

I think Paq's people went after the 135 weightclass just for this reason, it appears before hand "to have less talent." Wich it does, there's no one at 135 that can compare with Guzman's class, or Soto's swiftness.
They're protecting Paq. But I actually think David has a chance in beating Paq aslong as he gets has the right to gain weight on his own terms. But the ultimate motive behind moving Paq up to 135 is obviously the fact that there is less talent at 135.
Everyone with the exception of the late flawed looking Juan Diaz (who looked like a machine until his last lethargic performance), There's no lightweights that look like they pose too much of a threat. Kendal Holt and D. Diaz are the strongest (I think), so I'll give David a chance. If he comes to the fight prepared. If he comes not preparing for Paq's left, I can see him being surprised by it's speed for 12 rounds and David isn't a crafty fighter, he won't adjust to shots in a middle of a fight from what it looks like, he'll keep eating any punch until he can land his own. Plus Paq's left shoots out of his chest, not his shoulder, wich is rare in itself cause most strong hands come out of the shoulder. Not only that but he's a southpaw. But David is strong enough to last 12 I think, and I really wouldn't be surprised if he can pull out a Majority Decisison.
Guzman would probably beat Pac with his snore fest tactics.
Hey.... BobbO!
... Pac could potentially.. Beat Diaz, then beat Casamayor then beat Ricky who will have taken Malinaggi's strap.. PBF better fight Cotto quick if that happens or his P4P status is in jeopardy.
Manny's brother Bobby Pacquiao keeps me on speed dial for all the big shit.. There was also a thread about the PPV buys on sunday morning.
Hey.... BobbO!
where are you gettin all this inside info??

I think this is pretty much definitely in the cards. Why would both camps not want the incredible paydays? Pac/JMM 2 had about 500 ppv buys. This would be the biggest fight possible that didn't include DLH or PBF.

That would be boss
What about Pac and Hatton, next year?

THE POINT IS THEY FEEL PAC CAN WIN THIS FIGHT.....AND MARQUEZ WOULD BE HELL TO GO THROUGH AGAIN.....PLUS THEY ARNT SURE IF THEY CAN GET ANOTHER LATE SUBSTITUTION JUDGE TO GIVE PAC THE WIN.......SO THEY HAVE TO TAKE AN EASIER COWARDLY WAY OUT!!!
lmao!!!!
still sourgraping???
:lol1:
grow up boy....
When entering a new division...Pac always gets a tune-up fight first. :biggthump
Lol, it's funny to think that David Diaz the WBC world lightweight champion, is a tune up fight for Pac.
But tbh, it really is.

Not bad considering a title shot in his debut at 135.. This will make him 4 division champion history in the making if he can be a 3 linear champ if he defeat Joel.. That's history!
After David Diaz, anything is possible but I'm guessing he will fight either Casamayor, Campbell or JMM...
I read somewhere pac is already 3 time lineal champ...
flyweight ... FW & now at SFW, so if he beats casa he will be the first to have 4 lineal championship...
As a Pac fan I've no interest in this fight, Diaz lost a close fight to washed up Eric Morales.
Exactly, this a nothing kind of fight imo. I'd rather Pac fight JMM again.
What is the point of a Zab Judah vs Mosley fight on PPV? Zab judah hasnt done jack shit for a while...
While David Diaz has held a title and defended it and only lost 1 time/
but I think this fight should be on HBO if its on ppv it better have a good co main event.
Id say the point of Judah-Mosley is to find probably the 2nd or 3rd best welterweight in the world. Each guy has the ability to be the best in the division, while Diaz barely had enough to beat Erik Morales (thanks to a hometown decision).
I think this fight is a showcase for Manny, maybe a deserved one but to act like Diaz is a threat is taking it a bit far in my eyes. Who knows though, a motivated fighter is always dangerous and considering his style, that is if he doesnt hold, i guess it could be great entertainment

thats understandable then. I just hope that this isnt a PPV and they try to sell David Diaz as the champion like he has a chance. It wouldnt be a bad showcase on HBO for Pac though, I think hes going to walk through him quite easily.
