Why Aren't Heavily Hyped Prospects Fighting To Get On The Contender Series

I always thought why don't these hyped prospects tryout for the contender? For example imagine if say an unbeaten Edison Miranda had joined the first season of the Contender with the middleweights. He would have most certainly walked through all those guys. He would have been a huge star known to millions more than he is now! Probably on a popularity status that only elite boxers enjoy. This week I was thinking coming into todays fight with Lee and Vera, what if Lee , fighting a contender alum in Vera, had joined this previous season? He would be on everyone's radar if he cleaned house on this past season. Today I think I got my answer! The contender for what it is, is not short of guys who have hunger and heart, a dangerous combination on any given night!

I remeber that kelly girl and the gay guy with the crazy poofy hair... and the fat black guy.. But thats from the commercials and they all have idol attached to them. anyone shaken the name? like alphonso?

I feel like contender is parallel American Idol. Gives off the same feeling.. and you will be underestimated.. until you rpoduce.. produce and produce again.. then maybe you can shake the Idol/Contender name.. Like Alphonso... I dont watch idol.. So i dot know if anyone was able to get famous and shake the name. FEEL THE SAME? I bet these "Contender" fighters are more recognized to the average sport fan than say Miranda or Lee. In todays fight game popularity is everything.
