One guy is way younger than the other
One guy has a very high punch output as opposed to the limited punch output by the other guy
The older guy will need his legs to win the fight
The old guy is a master of fighting dirty
The young guy is undefeated
The young guy will be facing his toughest fight
One is black the other is white
The old guys have never been this much of an underdog before
Pretty interesting I think.
Casa is a good boxer, so I would imagine you equate him to Joe. However, Katsidis and Hopkins have nothing in common. Also, Casa doesn't throw as many punches as Joe does. And, if you're lucky, Hopkins might throw 30 punches a round. Heavyweights throw more than him!
Haha...High Punch output= Katsidis and Calzaghe
Technical:Hopkins and Casa.
That is what he means. Joe is more skilled than Katsidis, but Katsidis is a much harder puncher P4P.
I see no similarity between Calzaghe and Katsidis. One is a very intelligent boxer with a high work rate, the other is a powerful brawler with a high work rate that gets hit alot.
Fucking agreed! The Eubank Calzaghe beat was still a top fighter and would be fighting for titles today. People make out like he was a bum by the time Joe got to him, i even saw one person saying he "ballooned" up to cruiserweight and was beaten twice by Thompson.
1: Ballooned implies that a guy gets fat, Eubank put on solid muscle.
2: the first Thompson fight could've gone either way.
3: How many guys that have fought most of their careers at middleweight could step up to cruiser and go toe to toe with a big power puncher like Thompson for 21 rounds(before the doctor stops it)?!
That Eubank is very underrated and to me it should be counted as his 2nd biggest win so far behind Kessler.
Eubank cut a ton of weight, I mean a huge amount to get to super middle. I doubt he had to do anything at all to get to cruiserweight. and Carl Thompson turned around and got dominated in his next fight, so yea.
Eubank wasnt horrible when he fought Calzaghe, but theres no doubt at all he wasnt at his best. he had already had a long career up until that point and been in some pretty damaging fights. and all that weight cutting must have been getting to him at that point, I dont see why he would have jumped all the way to Cruiserweight and skipped out on Light Heavyweight otherwise.
On the other hand, I DO consider Eubank Calzaghe's #2 win.

He wasn't.
He fought two life and death struggles with Carl Thompson at cruiserweight after that.

Joe Calzaghe isn't a young fighter, he turns 36 this weekend. The haters say Eubank at 31 was an old man when Joe fought him, but now the same people say Joe is a young guy at age 36...
Go figure. :nonono:
joe is young compared to hopkins. I doubt calzaghe is half of hopkins at hopkins current age.
Age doesn't equate to you being past your prime. Joe is pretty fresh for a 36 year old, Eubank was pretty much past it by 31.
