And I began to see a little resemblance in style with Juan Manuel Marquez, right from the start. Any body else catch that? That guy was pretty good too, never seen any of his fights.
abner is good...but again dont expect other wordly things from him...he is sacrificing a lot of power to pull the nacho combinations.....and they're not really that effective...his last opponent was walking right through them...a fighter with a strong block and acurate sharp powershots will have an easy time with him and penalosa(who fits my description perfectly) is the champion of the organization that ranks abner higher....
thats where its up to a fighter to use what Nacho cant teach him. Its what separates good from great. Hopefully Abner has the intelligence needed to make adjustments that still fit his training.
I can see Abner Mares being a future contender with aspects of Lopes and JMM in his game. Dude better win tomorrow.

Ricardo Lopes is a G. beautiful technique and style. i too saw similarities in styles.
Agreed, almost a carbon copy. IMO, Lopez had a slightly better jab and defensive skills....
