Let me know what you guys think of the guy in blue..
Personally, I have little doubt this guy will be a champ. He's only had a small number of amateur fights, he's self taught for the most part, and he took this fight injured and sick with the flu.. Check it out. :?!:
The guy he's fighting in the red is an Olympic prospect..
The raw natural talent of this guy is incredible all factors combined.
yay another youtube sensation. line him up with Margarito and Lee lol
In a few years I'd like to fight Margarito.
Lee is too big and strong at this point. I've already sparred with him.
It didn't exactly go my way back then (2003)
So who was the cat in blue?
Our very own TYSON! :beerchug:
To take this thing full circle; the man almost didn't make into the ring that night. He was suffering from all the aforementioned conditions, and recovering from a very serious motorcycle in recent times that almost cost him his ability to function as a normal human being.. His back is apparently still completely fucked up.. His; is a truly inspirational story.
Despite all that this guy prevailed in brilliant fashion. :?!: :wtf:
He told me about the fight and everything leading up to it before I got a chance to see the footage.. Hell, I didn't even know there was going to be footage.. Needless to say I was astonished he even managed to fight that day - let alone WIN or put on that kind of display.. This was Tyson at a fraction of his full capability. As Boxing fans I'm sure we can all appreciate the incredible potential this guy has.. To all those who were impressed with the fighter in red - they should be. I know I am as well. The guy was a very good goddamn fighter..
I told Tyson - the next time I'm feeling like I can't make it through a situation, regardless of the challenge, I'm going to think about this.. I'm going to remember it.
I'd like to thank Tyson. :hail: I hope you don't mind I decided to make a thread about this.. You have been a gentleman and an inspiration.
Me? I don't mind.
I just wanna kill...!

i was more impressed with the red guy, however the blue guy gave away a bit of size and seemed to have good natural attributes, needs to throw more leather but
I'm also going to have to respectfully disagree. I couldn't say it much better than Tyson.. But the fella in red seemed to be paying a terrible price for his actions. The guy in blue was making him look bad. Flat out.
It appeared to take no less than one minute for Mr. blue to figure him out.
How often do you see an amateur fight won in that sort of fashion??
That was an absolutely uncanny demonstration of destructive economics..
Not just any amateur. No sir!
If I had the video tech stuff I would slow down and replay some of those counter shots, leads, and defensive moves. I think there's alot of pros who would be impressed. You can't teach that kind of stuff..
Green karma for you, sir! :fing02: Input appreciated.

Actually, there's a reason for the lack of punches from the blue guy.
The guy in red is a good boxer and an excellent counter-puncher.
You can see it when the blue guy throws punches first, the red guy counters from safe distance.
It would be tactical suicide to be more aggressive from the blue.
That fight was won on smarts. He just picked apart the things that was a threat to him.
Understand that boxing in real life is not Rocky. You cannot jump in with lead left hooks too often on good, technical fighters.
It's not as easy as throwing more punches at a guy who matches your skills and carries a 2 1/2 inch height advantage over you.
You need to be smart, otherwise you get picked apart.
If that fight were 6-8 rounds, I can guarantee you that the guy in red would be totally picked apart, manhandled and likely stopped.
In the fourth round, look how discouraged and angry the dude was.
He tried everything he could, but the little blue bitch was right there in his face, bombing away with an alarming increase of hard punches to the body and head.
The red guy was broken and frustrated.
It looks different on TV, but dude did not want to be in that ring by the end of the last round.
Plzzz no one look at me like im a dick.
But this makes me wanna train harder. I see all AM boxers as competition..... I feel so invigorated when I see another AM boxer doing good...borderline insulted but motivated...
anyone know what i mean? or get that feelings?
Absolutely, I think that's the best possible way to look at things.
Each man is his own enterprise, his own franchise.
That's the reality of it. Totally agreed.
I know the feeling.
It's annoying, but at the same time sweet. It makes you wanna train that little bit harder next time out.
What you doing on the computer anyways? Go out and run!! :lol1:
HaHA.. :fing02: Tys! I'm going to the gym soon myself.
Too old to fight, but damn I know you're right!!
Plzzz no one look at me like im a dick.

.. Can you give me some more background on this?
That video was shootin in chicago world champinship. Dimitry is no1 right now at 69kg. Going to Beejing 2008.
Info appreciated. Best of luck to Dimitry.
Karma your way, sir. :beerchug:

The guy in red would live dangerously in the pro's.
He throws too many punches with no attention to his defense.
Most of the amateurs have this error in their style because they get away with it in the AM's.
There's talk of going back to 3x3 min rounds in the amateurs after the Olympics. That will hopefully make the sport better as the transition from AM to pro would be smaller.
The frantic pace of the amateur fights would also be countered some.
I hate amateur boxing. You don't get time to figure out, setting up and finally unleash the hurt you've been planning because of the short rounds.
Brilliant observations as usual, Tyson. :beerchug:

Being self taught is what makes him special, his footwork and defensive skills would be a great foundation for a trainer to start with...
The angles are definitely there, speed and aggression is also there...
Considering the other guy is more experienced and his other advantages, your guy did good to pull the victory... at times his impatience cost him but that is only due to his inexperience, but saying that due to the other guys reach he had to get inside him proving that he's got a good boxing head...
Good solid all round skills, I disagree with the other poster declaring he's far from olympic ready, has he missed this years? which would be a shame as he'd be 26 for the next olympics which is too late really as you'd like him to be well into his pro career by that stage.
But I'll definitely keep my ears & eyes open for him...
After watching this a few times I'm more impressed. You've picked out a good 'un there... well spotted
I appreciate you checking it out. :beerchug: Excellent observations.
Double K your way. :fing02:
Either you know Boxing or we're both crazy! I couldn't agree more.
You made some excellent points, BennyST.
Input greatly appreciated. :beerchug:
Green K for you, sir. :fing02:
Cheers mate! Maybe we're both just crazy though! lol
Definitely a great find though. I'll be watching out for this guy.
