Here's how it can be done. Floyd is hiding behind all kinds of different excuses and alibis to duck Cotto. We know that.
now If Oscar gets some kind of injury in the Forbes fight and has to postpone or cancel the Sept Floyd rematch, then money may will be on the hook to fight Cotto the man he called a punching bag and who said Cotto knows he can't beat me.
If Floyd ducks Cotto in sept (if Oscar gets injured) then even the dumbest Floydfanboys would have to confess their man is a coward.
Let's hope Oscar gets hurt or says he has some kind of injury from Forbes because we know he doesn't really want the Mayweather rematch. then we may see Cottovs.floyd, the fight boxing wants most
we'll see when the fight gets made just tell ur boy to stop ducking.
I'll make sure I deliver that message next time we rent out the female midgets to party with in Vegas.
and of course i will give mayweather credit if he beats cotto everyone will
Good if you really mean it.
Who says, you?
They thought Hatton had all the tools. The saying was that Hatton's non-stop pressure would get to Floyd unlike a Delahoya who's prime style isn't based on pressure.
It didn't work.
They said that Floyd never faces anybody on his age level who is as fast as he is BUT just beats up on slow fighters. He did against Judah, not even using his legs BUT coming forward and putting the pressure on him.
Is anyone actually gonna compare Malinaggi - Quintana - Judah to Mayweather and realistically say what would happen. Those are guys are slick but none of them possess the dimensions...defensively/offensively that Floyd possesses.
Again,
Are the Cotto fans/Floyd detractors really prepared to give Floyd credit OR are they just so certain that they won't have to give him credit once Miguel pounds him and beats him?
Which is it?

u can't really say nothing against cotto the guys has all the tools to beat mayweather and that what makes you all worried just look at horus posts.

not only puerto ricans there are alot of cotto fans in nyc especialy from the hispanic community.
yup i'm one of them, although i'm not from NYC nor do I live there. I would buy the ppv in a heartbeat.
The puerto ricans can AND WILL fill the stadium if this fight happens.

Imagine all of the puerto ricans buying ppv and filling the garden. It would be a spectacle.
That's the most awaited fight in Puerto Rico, every day in Puerto Rico people are talking about how Miguel Cotto would beat Mayweather. Everyone is saying how they would buy that fight for sure and wouldn't miss it for the world.
In boxing one should always aim to fight the best. True floyd has beaten the best in the past but lets concentrate on the present. Any other welter would die to fight cotto. If money may's excuse is that there isn't enough money in this fight, that's not a very good excuse. People will pay to see the champion of the division against the #1 contender in the BEST division in boxing. Imagine all of the puerto ricans buying ppv and filling the garden. It would be a spectacle.
not even the garden YANKEE STADIUM MAN!!!!!!
I can personally say that I would give Mayweather credit if he beats Miguel Cotto, by that he would prove to me that he really is a true champion. Although I'm pretty sure Cotto will beat him.

I've seen it. I even pointed out Hatton's shortcomings related to the Collazo fight as evidence why he would lose. Still people were on about Hatton's impressive resume and how he will knock Floyd out.
I can do the same thing For Miguel if a Cotto - Mayweather fight gets signed sometimes next year. Until then.

a guy who didn't look good on welterweight i think before this fight was made Uk fans were the only ones giving a chance to hatton apparently u haven't seen the collazo fight.

Same question still stand: How much credit would Floyd get for beating Cotto? Are the Cotto fans/Floyd detractors really prepared to give Floyd credit OR are they just so certain that they won't have to give credit once Miguel pounds him and beats him?
That's the simple thing to say.
Mutant: Oh Floyd, just fight Cotto if you think you're so good. Just fight Margarito if you think you're better.
3 years later
Mutant: Just fight Andre Berto if you think he isn't on your level, what's the problem.
Vlad: well the problem my little mutant friend is, I'm asking hypothetically how much credit would Floyd get. He just defeated a 44-0 Top 10 P4p Ranked fighter and proved alot of people wrong YET I don't see much credit being given out. It's still the "Mayweather hasn't beaten anybody" talk.

How do we know for certain that Cotto will present such a challange and not be outclassed and outboxed?
And what if Floyd beats him easy, do you give credit?
We don't know if Cotto would be outclassed and outboxed because Mayweather is too scared to give him that chance to present a challenge.
I honestly don't see Floyd beating him easily and neither does most people here see Cotto getting beaten easily, Cotto has proven he has the skills and defense to give Floyd a hell of a fight, if Cotto doesn't knock him out I see this fight could go SD for either one.
There's only ONE way to find out. Credit will be given when it's earned. I actually predict floyd will win. My problem is his unwillingness to take the fight.

Ok, lets get back to the ORIGINAL question. If Oscar somehow gets hurt, or is unable to face Floyd in Sept, and Cotto steps up to the plate, would you approve if Floyd chose not to fight Cotto? If Floyd refuses, does that make him a bitch who's scared to face Cotto?
Can any Floydboy answer this?
You Floyd fans claim to be "real" boxing fights but you would rather see Floyd make money rather than see Floyd fight someone who would really challenge him, in other words see Floyd in a real boxing fight and not just an easy win.
