Tito De La Hoya has to rank up there. That was the biggest welterweight matchup since the 80's when you had Hearns and Leonard and what a stinker that turned out to be. You think the biggest?
Taylor-Spinks was expected to be pretty boring - it just turned out to be even worse than expected.
De La Hoya - Mayweather also wasn't expected to be much by anyone who knew boxing, & lived up (or down) to expectations.
Trinidad - De La Hoya was a bit of serious letdown, but atleast had it's moments (although not many).
Barrera - Morales 2 was another let down, especially when compared to the first, but did have it's drama.
Biggest letdown for me was probably Leonard - Duran 3.
OK, they were both past their prime, but Leonard had recently had a thriller with Hearns, & Duran was having a hell of late career revival.
Turned out to be one of the most boring fights in history - hardly a real punch thrown the whole fight.
Truly bloody awful.
DLH vs. Tito
Lewis vs. Holyfield
DLH vs. Mayweahter (was exactly BORING, but wasnt exciting enough to live up to the hype and MEANING of the figh to boxing at that time, it might have actually done more damage than good)
Klitschko vs. Ibragimoff (ultimate letdown since it was the first Uni since the 80's and it followed a freakin Joe Louis doc)
I also think DLH-Trinidad was the biggest flop. At least Mayweather-DLH didn't change from a boring boxing match to a pathetic game of tag.
I remember that night like it was yesterday, big fight party and the fight ends up being total shit.
Delahoya running around looking for an exit door while Tito is looking like a robot who can't do a damn thing without setting his feet.
DLH vs Tito - Very boring fight with a bad decision
Lewis vs Holyfield - one of the most boring fights ever with one of the worst decisions ever

DLH vs PBF fight wasn't great but the right guy won

I'm might be in the minority but I dont agree
I don't think it was a runaway robbery like alot of people say. It was a lousy fight because De La Hoya was effectively very defensive but there was so little to go on in the early rounds you could see giving some of them to Tito. De La Hoya had some decent rounds in the middle and than ran at the end. If you ask me he deserved to lose that descision as much or maybe more than he deserved to get it. you got to do more. It was actually nice to see the judges stand up to the De La Hoya machine, not reward coasting.

Yeah, I would say DLH vs Trinidad was the biggest because both fighters were knockout fighters. DLH ruined it for everyone. lol DLH vs Mayweather wasn't that disappointing because we expected Mayweather to fight a defensive fight.
DE LA HOYA v. MAWEATHER!
the highest selling boxing card ever and the most hype and it stunk like the fish in welters signature.
the undercard sucked and both fighters put in little to no effort.
it was a sparring mach.
