Watched the Hopkins vs Wright fight, does B-Hop always lead with the head like that? I've never seen the fight and can't recall much about his other fights, sorry not much of a fan....It pretty much looked intentional to me how he was leading w/ his head...

Hopkins is one of the dirtiest fighters in boxing. He's also the best at getting away with it because he is so aware of what the referee is able to see.
A fight that close shouldn't have been points taken away in it. He also warned Bernard for holding (which was the one in the 9th, not the headbutt), but Winky was doing it a lot afterwards too, so that's why he didn't deduct points.
Even if he had deducted a point, Bernard still would have won a UD.
Personally I thought the ref should have taken points, he warns him for the last time in like the 9th I believe then he would like pat him on the head after that in the following rounds...makes no sense at all...
Lesser known fighters like Joshua Clottey get DQ'd for doing the same stuff Bernard does all the time.
2510 on the wrist has a pretty funny siggy about it.

Yes, but when a fighter comes down with his head down like that and leads with the right, you are always going to get head (not the good kind lol).
It makes it even more common against a southpaw. The headbutt in the Wright fight was probably on purpose knowing bernard, but he did a damn good job of making it seem like an accident.
Yeah not to mention Hopkins ducks down head first every time he throws a right hand in order to avoid being countered.
Either way it's like 70% of the time they're intentional.

I don't think that Bernard automatically uses his head and trying to hurt his oppnenot, but if it happens to be there when his right lands he doesn't care and that's why he leads with it so much.
Yeah.
Also I think since he tucks his chin down to his chest at all times, his forehead kind of sticks out and maybe his vision is limited.
Because sometimes the headbutts seem accidental and Nard starts whining.

He has been leading with his head for years, it's sort of a Hopkins trademark nowadays.
Its almost getting as bad as Holyfield now. Those geezers share similar tactics... :nonono:
