I'd go with a boxing glove style bag glove, not a thin little bag glove...train with something similar to what you will fight with, preferably leather, with good knuckle &wrist protection. Title makes some nice, affordable ones.
is it ok to use mexican style gloves on the heavybag? ive never done it, but im thinking it's more dangerous for your hands, because of the mexican style (less padding on the knuckles)
true.. maybe these then..

but myself I use winning for training.. cant put a price on good hand protection..
bagwork. i was looking at these. how are they?

No idea, those are a little expensive. Ive used Title Pro-Mex training gloves, those are shit. Ringside IMF tech gloves are bulky and shitty, like most Ringside glvoes. Title Plat gloves are tight but wont keep someone off you in sparring, too soft and cant be used on the bad either. Just go for some mid-line title bag gloves.
below $50. umm
Id reccomend the TITLE Classic Mexican Style Training Gloves
this is them on the link..
