Who Id really like to see is the local favorite, Gatti. Paulie seems to be the less likeable replacement for Gatti. They both have heart, they both can take a beating. Ive never heard of "The Paragon". Are you talking about Paragon Sports on 18th and Broadway? Or between 7th and 8th on 34th St? You guys need to realize Paulie is one of the smartest boxers out there. He draws attention to himself as a Italian pretty boy that everyone hates and makes it so everybody wants to schedule fights to knock him out and steal his belt. Paulie Malignaggi will be doing a meet and greet this Saturday in New York City. It's going to be at The Paragon on 8th and Broadway. It's from 1:30 to 3:30. If someone is down to earth and humble then they are like that 100% of the time, not just when the cameras are off. And when Robert De Niro set fire to the $10 bill and waved a gun at that one guy in Mean Streets? What an asshole. Totally lowered my opinion of him.

I disagree, obviously i havnt met him face to face or anything but ive heard loads of interviews with him and to me he doesnt seem to respect his opponents at all, whether this is all just trash talk i dont know but he hypes himself up way to much for my liking and has done nothing to back his own comments up. This is just my opinion of him though. If i ever did meet him face to face and he did turn out to be a decnt enough guy who was humble and respecting i would give him his due but until that time, i can only go by what ive seen/heard from him in the media, which so far hasnt been good he does respect his opponents. I thought the same as you until I heard one interview when it became clear its just trash talk. He comes across as a really genuine guy, one of the good guys behind the persona just like Mayweather, Hatton, Kessler etc

Nothing escaped me at all. you are basically saying that Paulie needs to come across as an egotistical asshole in front of a camera in order for him to make money and be marketable? Sorry dude, I don't agree with you one that one. And someone who is truly humble and respectful wouldn't take that persona on board and run with it in the first place, they'd have enough humility to say you know what I'm gonna be true to myself and lets the fans see the real me, not some cartoon character of me. fight game aint easy man...look how much money kimbo is making..WHY cuz he is marketable. I meet names all the time and I am truly shocked how the best boxers are normally the most down to earth cool mofo's. I have met a crap load of pro athletes from other sports and boxers have been the most down to earth IMO... Its an inner confidence if you ask me. Everyone wants to be a fighter. When K pavlik went to a CAVS game all the players were jockin him. EVERYONE wants to be a fighter.

I met him in front of a pizzeria around my school. He's definitely a cool guy to talk to.

Paulie is a good guy in person, at least when I met him he seemed that way to me. It's all a character most of the time, as long as someone can seperate the two they will do fine in this sport. When you believe your own hype, that becomes the beginning of the end.

Paulie is probably the most humble, down to earth current champion I'd ever met. He talks at length with anyone and everyone and is very popular with the fans. He seems like your average kid who'd be playing video games with you or something along those lines. You say this about everyone lol. Who's an asshole that you met? I don't usually mention a guy if I don't like him. There are more than a few guys who are assholes, and they know who they are. It's funny because guys like Floyd Mayweather and Paulie, who you'd think were assholes, turned out to be the exact opposite. Ask El Jefe de Jefes, he met them both also.
