Besides Mayweather, what would the results be if Hatton fought other top welterweights? The division is too big and strong right now for Hatton. In other eras he might have done better, but he just isn't a good fit there right now. With his size he would need Cotto like power to stay in there with the bigger welters.

Actually Hatton is not small as a ww. In the Floyd fight he was pressing the fight until round 8, smaller fighters don't push bigger fighters back and considering Floyd is the best at that weight i miss to see how is Hatton small for ww. HE did look worse as a ww than as a jww and the reason is simple: quality of the opposition. That's the only factor. The moment you see Hatton getting bullied you can say crazy stuff like that but until then Hatton is just as fit as Cotto, Margarito or Citron or Mayweather to hang in there. I don't consider Cotto a BIG welterweight. He is a natural welterweight who is very strong at that weight, just like Hatton is at 140. Cotto wasn't at his best as a LWW and he would be a bit under-sized as a LMW (but he could succeed because the division isn't very strong). Williams, Cintron and Margarito are BIG welterweights.

i cant see him beating Mosley, Cintron, Quintana, Margo, Cotto or even Judah. I never really saw anything special in Hatton. You are very likely to see these words in someone's sig as Hatton fights again in the ww division. He could do well!

yeah his frame is just not big enough for 147... though i do believe the night he stepped in the ring with mayweather he would have brought the pain to alot of the welterweights. any welter with a decent jab would have kept him at bay. Mayweather let him get close so that he could play Hatton's game too. and elbow a little.
