No, there's not a referee alive who would have stopped it in the second round, except maybe that O'Connor fella who stopped the Manfredo vs. Calzaghe fight. A stoppage would not have been ridiculous, not any worse than Smoger stopping Taylor (Not that it was bad, Taylor couldn't get up). When Kelly was sprawling across the ring with his back to Jermaine I thought it was stoppage time. Pavlik was really fucking hurt!

I'd be shocked to hear none. the irony as someone pointed out above is that weeks did the johnson/chavez fight so he has one death on his record and smoger has none

The referee will be Tony Weeks. Better choice than Joe Cortez... Weeks is a quick stoppage referee sometimes. I dont like him for this fight. I hate it when i have to worry about a fight being stopped when a guy gets wobbled. But hey, refs these days get critisized a lot so you cant blame them for jumping in early sometimes
