I say Floyd can stop Cotto on cuts around round 9 or 10. Cotto has a good beard but after countlessly getting tagged by the much quicker and elusive Mayweather his face will open up. He'll get frustrated trying to catch Floyd using his slow ass feet. U?
Floyd would be too defensive against Cotto. I dont see Floyd committing to his punches in that fight. He will dance around the ring, and pot-shot for 12rnds. No way he stays in the pocket and trades with Cotto.
I see it a bit differently. Floyd in round 3..when fleeing from Cotto, reaches 88 miles per hour and activates the flux capacitor in his shoes, then he jumps back in time to 1955 and has to find Doc and Marty to get back. So the bout ends in no contest.
yeah but i think you forgot.. Mayweather gets money.. "He's P4P Best".. He's so rich he actually bought a time machine, goes back in time to 1955 and gets a UD over Cotto.. Oh yeah and then he raps over Johnny B Good to great applause. A Billion on the neck.
1. Floyd waited for Hatton slow his output and get careless studied him all the way
2. Hatton is faster on his feet than Cotto and throws more
3. Cotto is easier to hit than Hatton and Floyd would see Cotto's punches coming from a mile away
Hatton is more fleet footed than Cotto, but Cotto still has better foot work and cuts off the ring better. Hatton throws more, but he also throws wider and is more predictable than Cotto. Look at the way he was KO'd, for example. He was making the same movements and throwing the same telegraphed punch throughout that fight. He was even badly hurt by the same punch in the 8th round that ultimately finished him in the 10th round. The same repetitive body movements, dipping of the left shoulder followed by a leaping left hook which was easily countered. And compare Cotto's and Hatton's only common opponent, Carlos Maussa. I say that fight shows Hatton is a lot easier to hit than Cotto. http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/images/icons/icon6.gif
This is a disrespectful thread towards Cotto...Floyd stopping Cotto, let alone winning the fight is not a sure thing at all...I actually wouldn't be surprised at all if Cotto beats Floyd, he is that good.
Cotto's a stationary target. Hatton kept bouncing on his feet changing angles of attack coming at Floyd. Cotto doesn't come in and attempt to maul like Hatton. Hatton is more one dimensional than Cotto though. Cotto does have boxing skills.
dude i hope ur joking with all this analysis! if your not u need glasses!
Weren't you the one that said Floyd was feather fisted and could only stop Hatton on cuts?
I bet all of my points on Floyd to win, but I didn't think he would stop him, correct. Without the help of the ring post, I still don't, and also, Cotto has a better beard, longer arms and more firepower than Hatton, not to mention a much better jab.
