I think I heard in one of the Ali documentaries, that Liston had been knocking early opponents out with his jab!!! Lennox, Holmes, Ali all had excellent jabs, as did the pre Holyfield Riddick Bowe

Who do you guys think had the best jab? I think Larry Holmes. I honestly think that Klitschko has the best right now and maybe it is up there in the greatest of all time category. What would be your top 5? marco antonio barrera

Hearns, Holmes, Ali, Louis. Marlon Starling told me many times that the best jabs he EVER faced in his life, as an amateur, pro or in the gym, were the ones from Mark Breland in their fights. He always tells me the same thing: "Mark's jab HURT! Mark's jab was like anybody else's right hand!!"

Larry Holmes. Best jab I've ever seen. He actually helped Ali with his jab when they sparred.

-ali -holmes -de la hoya in his younger days -mayweather jr at 130. watch the fight with him vs jukko, cooper, and tony pep to name a few. his jab was just phenominal at 130 pounds, he threw it from the faint well and to the body very well. -lewis- had an amazing jab for a heabyweight and utulized it very well these aren't my top 5 because it's hard to pick the top 5 for me, but these guys qualify completely and i have others who also make the list. i'll post them later.

Is this only in the heavyweight division or what? Do fighters in any of the lower weights all have shit jabs? 'Bazooka' Quartey! Mighty fine, powerful jab in his prime. T'was his whole game. Oscar also had a nice jab when he was in the lower weights. His double was very nice.

I would also have to say Holmes. Ali and Patterson were fast, but not necessarily as accurate and powerful as Holmes jab was. Klitchko's is the best in the heavyweight division.

Holmes and Liston. Right now it's Wlad. I also think Shannnon Briggs' jab is underrated...

I know that I'll get heat but a Buster Douglas in his prime vs Tyson jab is the best ever in my opinion I like people who are willing to think out of the box and add a name to the discussion that others haven't thought of. And although I don't think he is in the category with others that have been mentioned, Douglas did in fact have a pretty good jab.
