does it matter what country a fighter is from? Honestly? im a patriotic dude, but honestly the fighters i like have nothing to do with where they are from. The world is getting smaller, The USA isnt gonna dominate everysport in the world anymore, Cant we just like fighters for what they do in the ring and not where they were born?
A fighter's country doesn't affect my opinion on them either way.
Heavyweights suck.
If there was an American heavyweight, then heavyweights would get more exposure on American TV, meaning there would be less exposure of lower weight fighters.
Basically, an American heavyweight would mean I would have to watch heavyweights more... which is not a good thing.
I still have my doubts on whether he's any better than chambers or even an in shape and focused brock
IMO, Chambers is the best american hw right now and he's still improving and McGirt should help him continue to do so. If he works on his conditioning and increases his workrate, maybe packs on a few pounds of muscle and increases his pop a little, he should go far.
No one can know unless Thompson steps up in competition. The only reason he is the best right now is because he doesn't have a recent loss on his record.
He is also a mandatory challenger for a world title.
That's the best American heavyweight Tony Thompson. Yeah.

Can u please tell me who that guy is in your avatar? He looks like they picked him up off the street and asked him if he wanted to make $100 to fight as a fill-in.

I would like an American heavyweight, but the heavyweights dont have to be American for me to like them.
its just a bit of nationalism, you would like to see Americans doing well at Heavyweight if you were American, just like British people wouldnt mind seeing Haye do good at heavy, etc etc...
it aint like Id be putting down other fighters just cause they arent American tho. but Id still be mildly more interested in an American prospect that I know nothing about than a heavyweight from another country that I know nothing about. nothing wrong with following your country a little bit, as long as it doesnt blind you or anything
I see what your saying, i mean im not gonna lie, my favorite fighter is wlad, but id prolly like him even more if he were american

Exactly. My favorite heavyweights - Povetkin and Wlad - are all from different countries than I am, but it doesn't matter to me.
I like Klitscko, but it seems as if he fights every leap year. LOL.
I dont care where he's from, as long as he's exciting to watch, and so far, i have yet to see one exciting European HW. Whenever a HW is brought up, most people automatically think of Tyson. Now thats a hard act to follow in terms of generating the type of excitement he brought into the ring.
