If you want to get technical about it, Benn retiring in his corner and breaking his ankle are considered 'quitting'.
Highlights of the two Collins fights are in this video.

yeah i agree to be techincal about it unlsess you fight on with a broken ankle & continue to try & hit your oponent even after the referee has waved the fight off it can only be perceived that u quit LOL
If u want to get technical about it Benn never quit it is a fact not opinion

That is your opinion but in my opinion he didn't want to fight anymore against Collins and Watson.
Benn vs Watson. Benn was spent, he punched himself out like Foreman against Ali.
In the Collins fights, yes he was injured in the first one and his corner retired him in the second one (though he didn't exactly oppose it) but he knew himself that he just didn't have it anymore.
Not a quitter but a man like everyone else, not the super hero that he is often made out to be. ;)
No its not my opinion its fact Benn was counted out , reitired his corner & once on broken ankle ,you are stating opinion my friend

He certainly didn't seem to be mad about it and went right away to hug the winner Michael Watson.
There have been cases where some fighters have fought with broken bones, even ankles. He was fine with his corner's decision to stop the fight because he just didn't have it in him anymore. Benn said it himself.
Like I said, I don't consider him a quitter but everyone, from Duran to Benn to LaMotta has had those moments when you just can't go on anymore.
But they have all also had glorious moments when they fought back and won.
I don't think we can say 'Benn didn't have any quit in him' but then say 'Duran was a quitter' because they've both had similar moments.
i dont think Duran was a quitter regardless of the no mas incident ,i never even mentioned Duran quitting against Leonard
what ever u think of Benn he never quit once ,maybe he cant say he did'nt feel like he wanted to quit against Watson but that is what every fighter goes through when it gets tough whe u hit the pain barrier wether u are fighting or training u push yourself through that & overcome it that is a quality that Benn had in abundance
contrary to what u have said Benn never quit in Any fight
Benn tried to be clever & stay down untill the 8 count but by the time he rose the fight was waved off , i dont see how i can be conceived as quiting

id like to see u fight with a Broken Ankle ,also if your corner stops a fight there is not much u can do stop them ,IE Corrales v PBF

I think Benn could've gotten up against Watson but didn't really want to.
He did get up at 10, too little, too late.
Benn also 'quit' (not that I consider him a quitter) after breaking his ankle and retired in his corner in the rematch. It was certain that he didn't want to fight anymore after the Collins fights.
I agree with what you are saying about toughness.
It's not just the ability to take punches but the ability to take those punches, come back and win the fight... or atleast make a good show out of it.
That's why Tyson doesn't belong in the top 10 toughest list.
Hell of a chin though.

For me taking punishment does not equal being tough
being tough IMO is absorbing the best your oponents has to offer & coming back with better ,or when you are being discouraged but then u show that never say die attitude & suck it up and ralley back
my definition of a lack of toughness is a fighter that stands there & takes punshment rather than have the courage to fire back & stay competitve cause they are hoping to be rescued on there shield IE Tyson v Lewis ,Judah v Cotto
Benn did 'quit' in a few fights but not against McClellan, he fought like a true warrior that night.
Duran quit against Leonard but redeemed himself as a fighter in that performance against Barkley where he took huge punches from the man that knocked Hearns out.
Tyson was tough IMO, he took vicious beatings in all of his losses but he was not a guy who came back to win fights.
Even LaMotta gave up in a few fights and also threw one fight.
no Benn was retired against Collins the corner pulled him out

Tyson tough LOL ,as soon as the heat got hot in the ring he would get discouraged or look for a way out of the fight ,not my defnition of toughness
i can respect that
Duran was a tough SOB but he quit mid fight.
LaMotta needs a mention as he took some beatings and never gave up.
Nigel Benn was a nasty tough warrior just watch the McClellon bout.
Benn was a real warrior ,no quit in the dark destroyer
