Which Fighter in his prime do wish was still active today , i miss the days when Hamed was about he was annoying but he was really entertaining & brought some flair to the sport ,id also like to see Whitaker in his prime so he could challenge Floyd to see how great Floyd is
Ray Robinson....
That would put more fire into WW... He could fight Mayweather and Cotto in a 30 day period (Inc. rematchs!)
Then move up to MW and cause a stir there by summer!
robinson wouldn't have to fight as often since he'd be getting paid a lot nowadays.
his negotiating tactics would further make it harder to make big matchups with him.
I'll do one for each weight class.
Heavyweight = Mike Tyson
Cruiserweight = Rocky Marciano
Light Heavyweight = Matthew Saad Muhammad
Super Middleweight = Nigel Benn
Middleweight = Julian Jackson
Light Middleweight = Terry Norris
Welterweight = Thomas Hearns/Sugar Ray Robinson
Jr Welterweight = Aaron Pryor
Lightweight = Roberto Duran/Pernell Whitaker
Super Featherweight = Azumah Neslon
Featherweight = Salvador Sanchez/Willie Pep
Super Bantamweight = Wilfredo Gomez
Bantamweight = Carlos Zarate
Super Flyweight = Johnny Tapia
Flyweight = Jimmy Wilde
Jr Flyweight = Michael Carbajal
Minimumweight = Ricardo Lopez.
Good list, except that Marciano would be a light heavy if he fought today, most of who weigh more than his 185 on fight night. Joe Louis would be a hell of a cruiserweight today, now that it's 200.
i would like to have seen Pacquiao v Azumah Nelson
what a fight that would have been ,either Pacman would be to quick or Azumah Nelson would Ko Pacman IMO
Robinson
I've only ever seen MW footage and Historians say Robinson was much better at Welter which i find frightening because he looked almost unbeatable at MW

Naz just for the pure cockiness and Drama that he brings into the ring..Boxing seem to be missing that at the moment, And Hagler just for the bold head seriousness about him.
Sugar Ray Leonard
Lennox Lewis
Marvin Hagler
Julio Cesar Chavez
Salvador Sanchez
SRL vs Mayweather @147
Lewis vs W. Klitsko
Hagler vs ( Pavlik, Taylor, Hopkins ) @160
Chavez vs Hatton @140
Sanchez vs Pacquiao @130
mike tyson - to clear out the heavyweight division, seeing mike tyson destroy valuev would of been poetry in motion.
roberto duran - to cut alot of bullshit out of the game today, and to feel like i'm watching a true legend in the making.
Chavez
Because from 84-94 he was fighting 5-6 times a year, I would love to see a Champion fight that many times a year now. Even if all the fight's aint on HBO or PPV, whats wrong with taking tune up fights on ESPN against decent but not great fighters.
Last time I can remember a top fighter being that active is Delahoya in 1998 he fought 5 times.
with the HW division...... mike tyson.... now THOSE are fights i would look forward to reguardless of the outcome...
tyson peter
tyson klitschko
tyson tua
tyson whoever
