From ESPN:
Junior lightweight phenom Yuriorkis Gamboa (8-0, 7 KOs), a 2004 Cuban Olympic gold medalist now fighting out of Germany, is on the fast track as Arena-Box Promotions has mapped out an ambitious and busy schedule for the electrifying prospect who turned pro last April. Gamboa will fight twice this month on "Friday Night Fights" (ESPN2), Feb. 8 and Feb. 22, although his opponents keep changing because it's so hard to find someone to fight him. If Gamboa is successful, he's headed for Showtime's "ShoBox" April 11 against Jose Rojas (24-6-1, 16 KOs), who is 0-3-1 in junior featherweight and featherweight world title bouts, including a decision loss to featherweight titlist Chris John in a rematch last March. He also has a technical draw against John.
Wow, two fights in two weeks! Almost like a modern-day Harry Greb.
An Article earlier was saying Andy Lee was fighting again on Feb 29 and then on March 21 so he's fighting quite a bit too. Like you guys were saying Gamboa probably will be champ by the summer time. I hope he does fight Valero, with Gamboa's speed and good boxing skill, IMO he would embarass him.
I almost had my ass thrown out of middleschool for having 3 fights on one day. (most count for something...) lol
Depends, were they in the same grade as you or lower grades?
He will win a title this summer. Bank on that. Curtis stevens fought 3 times in 30 days, beat that.
