Now all the Floyd haters are saying Hatton is a blown up welterweight. But then what is Floyd? He started at 130 pounds and Hatton walks around 30 pounds atleast heavier then what Floyd does.Mayweather is not a big guy at all and I think it is a lame excuse in a fight against a undefeated top 10 p4p fighter he knocked him out. Mayweather had the 2 most watched PPV's last year by a mile and I don't see how anyone can fault him for taking the Hatton fight. Since a lot of people wanted to see it, but now that Hatton got exposed it's Floyds fault.
i dont know why people gives too much atention to the weight only with out considering other factors asswell. Floyd begin in a divition much lower than hatton did but Floyd is 5'8 so that means he was pretty much over the average size in the category giving him the flexibility to move up without trouble to further divitions. Obviosly we have to give floyd credit for his dedication to take care of his condition that i think is one of the best or maybe the best in the sport. But Hatton is a guy that is 5'6 and i asurre you that a guy of 5'8 can do better in adapting to the 147 pound to a 5'6. Every one can make a determined weight if you want too but that means that you are going to compete at the same level? i guess not. Hatton sometimes weight more than 160 when he its not training so we can assume that he can make easily a pre fight weight in the 160. But the fact that he can make the weight doesnt nesesarily means that you are going to compete. Hatton sometime has weight 180. Lets put this example if we put DLH vs Hatton in a 154 pound fight who is going to be more comfortable a guy of 5'6 of short extremities or a guy of 5'10.
Mayweather grew into welterweight, it's his natural fighting weight now. Why else did Mayweather insist the fight be at 147 when Hatton wanted it at 140? Because at age 30 PBF is a natural welterweight, while Hatton is a natural super lightweight.
Mayweather is even a rather big welterweight! His reach is greater than heavyweight David Tua.
:nonono: :nonono: :nonono: This post is just terrible all the way around. None of this shit makes any sense

The problem is that the Floyd lovers basically have called Hatton a joke. It works like this...if you call a fighter a joke then your woderful Floydy beats the "joke" why should everyone give credit?
My other theory is the PPVs were successful not because people are Floyd fans it was because many thought Oscar and Hatton would beat him.

What about the ref?
He couldn't get close... man. Mayweather kept backpedaling and popping. It was actually a real strong performance from PBF. Do I think Hatton could of been less aggressive and lost a decision... yep. But I respect the way he tried to win the fight. It was the only way he had a shot. He just lost. It's too bad... it would've been great for boxing if Hatton had won.
I am not saying either that he would of won if he had fought his best, I am
just saying it wasent the best hatton out there.
Yeah Floyd beats Hatton at 140lb, too quick, deceptively strong and too skilled. BUT, Hatton's looked out of his depth at WW, so irrespective of him being bigger or smaller than Maywether, unlike Floyd, he is just too small for his rough housing style to effective at 147.
How many body shots did Hatton try and throw?

i always thought hatton was garbage and still do but i'm happy floyd koed him there were alot of people that felt like hatton was such a great fighter so i had no problems with him and floyd fighting
I agree with the premise of this thread if not the spirit. People on this site put TOO MUCH STOCK INTO WEIGHT CLASSES. Enough already. They were both 147 for the fight. Jesus Christ, you would think Hatton had to gain 50 pounds the way people are talking.
true. its nothing more then an excuse and another reason to hate on mayweather. pick a weight, 160, 154, 147, 135, 130, 126, 122.... mayweather wins no matter what weight they fight at and by a bigger margin the lower they go in weight.

Hatton weighed more than Floyd did on fightnight and came in in peak condition at 145 pounds. Are you seriously saying that wasn't Hatton's best? Get the fuck out of here.
That was defiently not Hattons best
You are a fucking asshole.
Anyone who doesn't share your opinion is a hater?
You obviously don't know what Hate means.
You must be a sensitive bitch if you think that a difference of opinion equals hate.
Truth is fuckwit.... Hatton has performed best at 140 all his career and why he has been able to hang with his physical disadvantages of Height and reach.
Mayweather has grown into the 147 weight much more effectively than Hatton could dream of.
Whether you like it or not Floyd beat Hatton at a weight where he was never a true contender.
That is the TRUTH...tell me if I am lying?
And get this.....I DON'T HATE FLOYD.
All i read was blah blah blah  im sure you were one of the guys saying hatton was going to knock floyd's head off lol :smashfrea
Mayweather beat a guy who performs best at 140.
Get over it.
If Mayweather wanted the full accolades he should have met him at that weight.
Similar to Bore-hard making his best wins come up from 147 to 160 or from 154 to 170.
Kind of takes the shine off.
Credit still due though.
But he can never say he beat Hatton at his best.
Whether you or I like it or not.

Hatton refuse to have the fight at 140, They (Team Mayweather) were prepared to go to 140 but they said Team hatton refuse to put the ring belt on the line, It was a calculated move on Team hatton's part because that way they wouldnt lose their ring belt at 140 if they had lost the fight.

LOL......Mayweather performs at HIS best at 135.
Smaller?
Hatton weighed more in the ring, on fight night, then Mayweather did, in ALL of their damned fights. pick any MAyweather fight, then pick any Hatton fight, and Hatton was heavier.
thank you, goodnight
If he were talking about Paul Williams or maybe even Margarito he might have a point. Hatton was big enough to fight Mayweather. It just turned out he wasn't good enough.
