I'm a fan. despite most calz fans thinking that I'm not cuz I say hopkins will beat him and that his p4p status is overrated, I really do like him. and most of the reason for his bad oponents is his mangers fault less his. thats why I still respect him as a person and fighter.

I certainly don't know why the fight never happened.I assume because he did not want to fight over here,and Hopkins didn't want to fight over there...and we as fans lost. And how can I watch him fight non-American fighters if it is not televised here. And despite what Europeans think,despite the lack of interest in this country about boxing...Las Vegas and to a certain extent,Madison Square Garden is the world capital of boxing. Therefore to be a true world champion,one must fight there. So,not to demean Calzaghe's career...but something is missing. true to fight in msg is a big arena yet a world champ has to travel the world also. joe aitn exactly done that, but so havent a lot of champs. being the champ means you get to choose where you fight.

The only excuses are the ones used by the Americans who dodged him when they were prime, and are prepared to fight him now because WHEN they lose they can say they would never lose to him in their prime. id like to see joe against some better opposition outside kessler... but i dont question him as a great fighter... anyone that has gone undefeated for 15 years... HAS to have some talent... hopefully he shuts up bhop cuz no one else seems to be able to do it... and i hope its CONVINCINGLY... hops really only had ONE loss as far as im concerned and thats too roy... when bhop was still sort of green... someone needs to HAND HIM A LOSS Very True.....

He never fought Taylor, Wright or Hopkins. Everyone needs to stop making excuses. These excuses, especially financial ones, are ALWAYS there. Calzaghe would beat any fighter from any generation at any place any time. The reason he hasn't made the big fights in his career is due entirely to the unrealistic financial demands of the top American fighters. The European fighters Calzaghe fought would all destroy the top American fighters. Jeff Lacy is a modern day Henry Armstrong... blah blah blah... Hey Joe: fight the Pavlik/Taylor winner.

Brother Blues, the fight was agreed and Hopkins doubled the money at last minute to price himself out of the fight. This is FACT. He knew he'd get beat then and he'll get beat now Really...well,it looks like we will all get a chance to see now. I believe Calzaghe wins now...5 years ago,I'm not so sure.
